But hidden within the story of poor unfortunate Jane Eyre is the story of Mr. Rochester and his hidden wife and marriage. Though he is loathe to confess the events leading up to and detailing his first marriage, he does make a full explanation to Jane, begging her understanding. This quiz is based on that confession.
