Brain Teasers
Can You Put Me in a Box?
Riddle
Riddles are little poems or phrases that pose a question that needs answering. Riddles frequently rhyme, but this is not a requirement.Riddle
I am like a mother and a father, but am neither.
Some have described me as being like a shepherd, a mother hen, a king or a fortress,
but these words are inadequate when it comes to discovering who I really am.
For some, I can be like a judge or even like a rock.
I can be like the sun, fire or breath;
but again, I am none of these things.
To attempt to seek out who I am, look to love;
as love best defines what I am like.

Who am I?
Answer
I am God of the Judeo-Christian Bible.He's been described as everything from an impersonal life-force to a benevolent, personal, almighty Creator. It is impossible to describe God, since God is beyond description. We can only say 'what God is like'. The book of Psalms attempts to describe the nature or character of God by telling us what or who He is like. There are numerous other descriptions of God in these poems, so the ones mentioned in this teaser are but only a few.
The final stanza of the teaser is based on the statement found in [1 John 4:8 ]: "Whoever is without love does not know God, for God is love."
