Logic-Grid

In the happy town of Minuscule, population 411 or 412, depending on who does the count, four good citizens ran for the office of Mayor. To see who became the Minuscule Mayor, or better, the Mayor of Minuscule, see the clues below.
Candidates: Owen, Edith, Nora, George
Location of major speech: store, school, barbershop, saloon
Number of people in audience: 8, 12, 20, 40
Length of speech: 15, 20, 30, 60 minutes
Number of final votes received: 13, 26, 33, 52
Clues:
1. It was only coincidental that George's speech was as many minutes long as the number of other people there in the store.
2. Edith's hour-long speech was unplanned--she had gotten in an argument with the bartender. There were twelve people besides Edith there that morning. (None of them were listening, but that doesn't matter).
3. Nora gave her main speech at the school. It came right before the school's Saturday band concert, at which there were 40 people.
4. The candidate who spoke for 20 minutes got 6 more votes than the number of minutes he spoke, which was twice as many votes as the one who spoke for an hour received.
5. Owen's 15-minute speech was to inform his listeners that he was withdrawing his candidacy in favor of his wife, Nora, who was runner-up in the race for votes.

Great teaser! I actually got it!
good teaser
I usually have a lot of trouble with this type of teaser, but I enjoyed this one and figured it out. More please.
How can Owen receive 52 votes if he withdrew?
Oh wait, he knew that he won, so he let Nora win because she came second. That makes sense.
Great teaser, pretty easy though
Most of this was extremely easy, but I had a hard time with the final clue (about Owen withdrawing). I assume the speeches were made prior to election to drum up votes and I got the impression that Owen was stating Nora was in second position at that time. The teaser asks us to solve "FINAL VOTES RECEIVED". The only two blanks left on our grids are the number of votes received by Owen and Nora, so one must presume that she remains runner-up at election time (after all the speeches) and that 52 people still vote for Owen despite his withdrawal. Odd.
Funny story, by the way!
Funny story, by the way!
Owen knew he was the town favorite, but men will sometimes do odd things for their wives.
Seems kind of easy ... and dull.
How did you know where each of them spoke at? I had a lot of blank space on my grid.
Don't forget to fill in the consequential negative squares.
Really fun story! Thanks for the laughs.
easy, yet very fun to do. =).
Well, to be fair, only the handful of people who heard Owen's speech knew he had withdrawn. Fun teaser.
A few people in a small town is all it takes.
Nice teaser.
Good teaser! I would have voted for Edith - speaking in a bar/saloon to a dozen morning-drunks
You have to guess on the final clue, there's liitle logic involved for that one.
