Math Matches
Suppose these lines were some matches. Move just one match to make the following equation correct.
I + II + III = IIII
a) What's after " = " cannot be changed.
b) Move only ONE match.
I + II + III = IIII
a) What's after " = " cannot be changed.

I loved this teaser!

when i first read the answer it didn't make any sense!! but after dwelling on the answer a bit, what i think the answer should be is - "take a match from II and add it to the middle match of III (in a cross formation) which would make the middle match of III a plus sign, hence I + I + I + I= IIII "
you could also take the first I and put it diagonally across the equal sign ... so II+III (does not equal) IIII
Is this math? It feels like construction, and not the geometric kind.
Oh! I see...
This would go good in trick.

I took a match away from the second '+' and inserted it in the middle of the right side group. So I + II - III = II-II
BTW, I think it's quite OK for a teaser to have multiple solutions. Part of the fun for many people is to find another solution that was not given.

I took a match from + and put it on = to make a inequality.
