| Kallian, gloves can be used to bat with - such as in cricket, you have batting gloves; every boy in Australia has batting gloves to protect their hands.
I was thinking totally different but it didn't exactly fit with just one ball. |

| It could also be the thing that props up the ball, like in softball. I don't know what it's called. It's used to hit the ball (it keeps it in one spot), and it never gets hit (almost never). |

| I enjoyed this one soooooo much!!! I have been really busy with school this semester and with moving but I still find a moment to try and figure out the brain teasers. This one was so fun that I sent it to a couple of my friends to see if they can figure it out. Great Job!!! I sincerely loved it. |

| Pretty easy, but a good one.
I love the people who always post with "I thought it was..." followed by some inane idea that only fits half the clues. |

| Right on "guess," maybe they feel half an answer in better than none.
I was stumped on this one. |

| Once I saw the answer I could have kicked myself, I thought it was a glove. Batters wear them, and so does the pitcher and everyone else. But alas I was going in the wrong direction. I couldn't see for looking.

| Very good and clever. I was way off. I thought the pitcher's mound.
It is used to bat with. The hitter has to have it so it is part of it all. Okay, it is lame, I know. no comments please! |

| how eyelashes used to bat??? |

| Your eyelashes flick away small objects when you blink. But the best answer to the riddle is HANDS!! |
sbuske
Jul 02, 2012
| Batting gloves are thrown all the time. They also get hit. Ever been hit on the hands while playing baseball? Mucho pain. However, I don't know if you could consider it thrown, but eyelashes do come off and fall. Is your body throwing them out? |
Aprilasb
Jul 02, 2012
| It could be your hand, too. Just think about it. |

| You guys are taking the bazeball analogy too literally. You bat your eyelashes whe you flutter them usually ascribed to a woman who is flirting and playing the "oh woe is me damsel in distress" role. The "ball they are near is you eyeball. The teaser stated near a ball but don't get hit, so batting glove or any other piece of baseball equipment wouldn't really fit. |

| The riddle states it "never gets A hit". I emphasize the 'A' because that means that it can include other baseball equipment. Just because it gets hit doesn't count as getting A hit. Therefore, tees, batting gloves, pitcher mounds are all valid answers. If you go with the other interpretation, eyelashes get hit all the time too. They are there to protect our eyes from getting hit from dust and other particles. That would rule them out as an answer. |

| I looked at this in the morning, and knew it needed to sit....was able to figure it out pretty painlessly this afternoon-and really enjoyed it! Must be a cultural expression about batting eyelashes, given many didn't recognize it. |
