Spazy Croonerisms
A spoonerism is a pair of words that can have their initial sounds switched to form new words. The pairs need only sound the same, not necessarily be spelled the same (power saw & sour paw, horse cart & coarse heart). There may sometimes be one or two connecting words (kick the stone & stick the cone, king of the rats & ring of the cats). Given the following definitions, what are the spoonerisms?
1) no-cost fish lures & honey shipment
2) leaping legumes & colliding dungarees
3) crustacean movement & criminal sunscreen
4) baseball term & seasonal pig

I managed to get all but the lobster motion/mobster lotion. The only thing that came to mind was crab walk and con block!
I gidn't det any.
I didn't get any.
Splendid!!
I got all of them, but that's just because I'm obsessed with these puzzles. VERY CLEVER. Definatly a favorite.
wow that was awesome
I liked the middle toast err ..title most! Freight Gun!!
Have you read Shel Silverstein's new book "Runny Babbit"? Not just for kids - it's fery vunny.
Love the Spider reference, keep up the good work!
Good one. I only got #2... the easiest one, eh?
Got first 3, but being English don't know anything about Baseball, and Fall is autumn to me
LOL that was great!
Haha I didn't get any! Good job!
Very fun! I got number 2 at least!
pretty good ones. not easy, if you ask me.
very cool
Best yet. Very clever and fun to solve.
Now that's my type of teaser! Got all of 'em except the last one. Keep 'em coming!
very clever!
That was great. I like very much!
what woz dat all about?
I had no idea what was going on there......
Very good!
I love spazy croonerisms. Unfortunately, i didn't get it until i read the answer- so the storal of my mory is- make sure you get the instructions straight before you check the answer.
I didnt really like it much.. but it was clever.
Didn't get any of them!!
Loved it!!! I got the first 3 and couldn't get the last one!!! This one is going in the favorites!
clever 1
i thought you were supposed to change one side to be like the other! opps!
OOOOAAAAKKKKYYYY!!!!
Didn't get the last one. This was a very American one. The most I know of base ball is it's something like rounders, and although I realised that 'fall' is American for 'autumn' I still didn't work out the answer. Sorry, I'm just too English
I'm getting better at these! Maybe I'll get them all next time!!
I have just been informed that I have been rude to everyone when using capital letters.
I apploogize. I am so used to seeing them on, when I use the computer after my roomate, who leaves them on all the time to make it easer for him to see.
I will be more careful, I didn't mean to offend anyone by shouting.

Froggygg....loved your answer for #3.
Only scored half a'crown tonight, but I enjoy trying.
Great Job!! I only got two of the four, but I had a great time trying to figure them out. Way to go!
I f***ng hate Spazy Croonerisms..
I liked that! Got numbers 1 & 2 but was completely at a loss for 3 & 4! Great job
Does everyone know about Canon William Archibald Spooner, history professor and warden of New College, Oxford for many years and supposedly given to unintentional transpositions of initial word sounds, though New College's web-site history denies this. Most spoonerisms attributed to him are apocryphal, but a few (rightly or wrongly) are attested -- e.g. to a student he was dismissing, "you have deliberately tasted two worms and you can leave Oxford by the next town drain," and announcing a hymn in chapel, "Kinquering Congs their titles take."
I'm terrible with these.I give up too quickly. Maybe next time I'll do better.
Good one-- i got the first two and only Lobster-- Mobster---
Liked it. It was real fun. Got2 could not figure out the last two Keep them coming ineed the practice
I love these! I got them all but number 4. Kept thinking "swine" or "hog" for "pig." Never thought of "boar" or I might have gotten it.
Learningchinese, no one has acknowledged your apology. I think it was very nice of you to write it and I think it should be acknowledged and you are certainly forgiven as far as I am concerned.

Sorry, today my mind just was not working. But you definitely get A for effort. Maybe next time I will be more with the program.

Wow.....I was way off!!!!! The only one I could think of an answer to was the first one.....I thought meat sale/sweet mail. I knew it that meat sale didn't relate to no-cost fish lures but it worked with honey shipment......sort of . Anyway, I'm really bad at these....I should work on it!!!!!
Good job on these spoonerisms. I usually get more, but only got 2 this time. It's funny how after I see the answers, I feel like they should've been obvious to me.
DeLIGHTful!!!
BTW, learningchinese ... I applaud you for your comment today, and appreciate this sign of sensitivity!
This was great! Except my brain is apparently off today...
That was hard and a little bit boring!!!!!
man I don't even care I didn't even read it
It was fun and easy
Itr was really good. The only one I didn't really like was the lobster motion one because, well, 1) I didn't get the answer right, and 2) I don't really agree with it. It could have have been other answers as well. Great job though
I got one of them which is 1 more than I usually do on Spoonerisms. But I live trying! Good one.
Cool. Very well thought out.
I agree well thought out and very cool. I am not good at solving but, do have fun trying. Thank you for your croonerisms.
They were much tougher this time. I only got half of 1, 3 and 4. I usually get these. Thanks for the teaser.
you lost me amedeatly.
This was a tough one! Only got #2, but still enjoyed trying. Great job cnmne!
Pretty tough, but fun!
Hate these, didn't try.
I love spoonerisms. Jeans was the only word that jumped out at me, I had to really work to get the others. Some I didn't get at all, lobster motion, mobster lotion did me in. Very funny.
Got 1 and 2 but 3 and 4 threw me! Fun!
I got all 4 with hardly any difficulty! And this teaser was great fun for me; thank you for posting! I guess my handle suits me!
couldnt come up with number 4. very fun!
I got a couple ,but these were a bit tough for the average person. You smarties can congratulate yourselves. I just think the words could have been a bit better. That's just me though!
The middle two worked well but honey = bee and seasonal = fall were too much of a stretch for me. I even tested out free bait but didn't get there.
The baseball term is reasonable but completely random so it didn't help to have a misleading word in the other pair. Season pig is better IMO, "seasonal" sent me down a path of Christmas or Easter.

I got two easily and was stumped with the others. Fun and funny, though! Thanks for a good one!
These were actually quite amusing!
Tried it in 2012 and did about the same this time. I still think it could have been improved on. Just me though.
excellent
Three years on and it still needs the same tweaking.
I read the last one as "baseball team" instead of term. So I thought something "nine" and tried to match it with "swine" (pig). That line of reasoning got me nowhere!! anyway - fun teaser!
2018 and I am mentioning what I should have before. How can you substitute the word "honey" to be the same as bee? Bees make honey of course but honey is a sweet thick substance. Strange offering.
All reasonably easy, except number 4, not a hope with that one outside of the USA!
They were fun though, thanks!
They were fun though, thanks!
Fun, entertaining and challenging teaser; I got all 4 crazy spoonerisms right for the first time ever.
These are so clever and fun! I had to work pretty hard to get #1 and #4. I agree, #4 would be hard outside the U.S.
I find these so entertaining and funny. I don't have many language teasers in my faves, but this one is going in.
Babe, I agree with you regarding bee and honey. I had the same reaction. However, I think "honey shipment" is a single phrase, similar to "baseball term". So you are not really substuting "bee" for "honey" directly.

Had a hard time with these. I got #1 and #2, but didn't get the other 2. I guess I need to not give up too soon. I have to work on my patience, or is that patients?
I love these crazy things! I got the first 3 fairly quickly, but the last one was a stumper.
Fun and entertaining teaser; I got them all fairly quickly this time.
