| nice teaser - good rhyming, too. spent two hours once upon a time trying to put one of those things together - got it down to two spaces. never tried again. |
GebbieRose
May 24, 2006
| Tiggr, there is actually a solution to those things! even contests to see who can "solve" them the fastest. |

| Amen to Imurray comment.
This teaser was well done and fun. But 'it was way more fun' smashing one with a hammer. The R'cubed drove me nuts.

| Oh, didnt get it, waaaaaahhhhh!!!
I always find a way to blame it on someone else when I don't get one, but this AM, I'm sparing you! I couldn't think of an accusation. It's simply that I haven't seen one of those for like, at least a thousand years, lol!
Anyway, that was good, thanks! |

| I forgot about the Rubik's Cube. |
BeckyD
May 24, 2006
| I liked it a lot! It was easy, but fun! At first I thought it was going to be a rainbow because of the colors... then I thought maybe a marble game like Chinese Checkers. Then I realized it was the Rubik's Cube. Nicely written poem, and a fun teaser!! ***** |
bradon182001

May 24, 2006
| I got it, I GOT IT! And right away! I do think it helped that just yesterday, I did a crossword puzzle that needed the first name of Mr. Rubrik. I didn't know that, but learned that it is Erno. There - now YOU learned something! |
iteachkids
May 24, 2006
| OOps - I mean Rubik! |
kboardma
May 24, 2006
| That was a lot more fun than tinkering with a rubik's cube. That thing drove me crazy. A friend actually bought me the little stickers that you could put over the squares so they could be lined up properly again. LOL
I too thought this was a deck of cards - althought I guess they don't have a world of color - but did you ever try and get a royal flush? |

xeses
May 24, 2006
| I thought it was an artists pallet. Of course, that makes no sense since you can't unmix oil paints, nor is it 6 sided. But other than that I was close. |
AwwwSweet
May 24, 2006
| Terrific teaser! Have to agree with OCH on the hammer smashing fun... |
kwelchans
May 24, 2006
| Easy but fun. I LOVE Rubik's cubes. I have a whole collection of them at home. I like to mix them up in different patterns. It IS more fun to mix them up. |
vlerma
May 24, 2006
| I'm old enough to remember the Rubic's Cube and several more that came after. One was even eight sided. But the origianal was still the best. I see it brought back memories for a lot of us. I did get the teaser, right off the bat, easy and fun. But I was totally impressed with the poetry writing. Now that took class. Good job. More please. |

| CHILD'S PLAY! |
thecelticgod
May 24, 2006
| Fun. The poetry was very well done and flowed nicely. For those who got hung up on race - notice that race was in single quotes. That's your cue that it is a metaphor - another indication of a very well constructed riddle. |

The hint gave me the answer. Nice puzzle you wrote.

May 24, 2007
| I could not get this one, and I used to love rubic's cube. I haven't played with it in years, so maybe that is why I didn't think of it. Great teaser. |

| Fun! For some reason my first thought was some sort of liquid, but I got it in the end. Nice one! |
lmurray
May 24, 2007
| A KOREAN LAD CAN SOLVE A RUBIK'S CUBE ON AVERAGE IN 11 SECONDS.
THE WORLD RECORD IS ABOUT 10 SECONDS.
 |
AbsurdHero
May 24, 2007
| Interesting. I was thinking it was a deck of playing cards, but the 52 card Pick-Up connection grew less and less likely as the riddle went on.
Also, lmurray is an idiot. |
Madelulabelle
May 24, 2007
| That was really easy, but it was cleverly worded and I like it. I have a friend who can do the rubiks cube with his eyes closed. I can barely get one side done... |
riddle_of_fate
May 24, 2007
| i got the answer but i cant beat the cube! |

May 24, 2007
| The Old Rubiik's Cube Trick....very nicely done! I was stumped. My guess was stamps. |
katjojo
May 24, 2007
| I got it right away!! Yeah!! Good teaser, I also thought a box of crayons for a moment. Until it said that it is more fun messed up. HeeHee!!! |
anion
May 24, 2007
| Good teaser...it was nice and easy. I don't think imurray is leaving bad messages now. He seems to have changed his attitude. just my thoughts...
anyways keep up the good work |
cheeny13
May 24, 2007
| I was thinking all over the place.. (except the right place!!) play-doh, deck of cards, colored dice ( ). The colored dice should have given some power the lightbulb in the brain, but, alas, it did not! Oh well, great one anyway!! |
Caleythia
May 24, 2007
| Great riddle. At first I was thinking crayons, but by the end of the riddle I had it. I did "solve" one, in a way, when I was a kid. I took all the stickers off the cube and put them back on so it was solved. Not what the designers had in mind, but it worked for me. |
debbie64
May 24, 2007
| I thought it was a great teaser! Probably because I could figure it out much easier than the cube. When I was a kid I learned how to take it apart and put it back together correctly. My friends and family all thought I was brilliant when I would come back from "thinking" with the puzzle solved! |
doehead
May 24, 2007
| Old,Easy, another waste of my time.Immurray and I are probably the only two people who really lay the truth on the line. C'mon you others tell the real truth when you see these grade school teasers. are you afraid of the ridicule or are you that undereducated? / |
puttumup
May 24, 2007
| wow a very easy teaser..but very nicely writtn out and very well explained |
saxman
May 24, 2007
| I needed the hinh. As soon as I saw it was a six sided figure, I "knew" it was a cube. Well written, though. I rated it meduim difficult. |

| I couldnt get it, but i tried. Just not good at these teasers but this one was cute. |

babycee
May 24, 2007
| at first glance, i thought of a box of crayons, but by the time i finished reading it to the end, i got the right answer. great teaser. |

May 24, 2007
| A KOREAN LAD CAN SOLVE A RUBIK'S CUBE ON AVERAGE IN 11 SECONDS.
I think there is a logical error in this statement. The ability to solve a Rubik's Cube (or any other puzzle, for that matter) is neither sex nor Nationally-linked. The statement (possibly) should read, "A product of the Korean Education System can solve ..." |
j9mattfield
May 24, 2007
| I enjoyed this teaser - thanks! I had to read it through a couple of times, and the "race" part threw me off, but I got it. And thank you, all of you who, take the time to put these teasers here for us. Whether you write them yourself or get them from somewhere else. Those that are "old" to some are "new" to others. And being that human brains are as different as the human themselves, they do not all work alike. A teaser that is is "easy" to one is not easy to another. I come here not only for the challenge, but for the fun. A person that submits anything to Braingle is opening themselves to ridicule, and fortunately (note the sarcasm) there are those who are full of nothing but. So again, my gratitude to all of you who give of your time. Most of us appreciate it. |
zaya
May 24, 2007
| Here's my issue with riddles. Either you get it fairly quickly and it feels way too easy, or you're stumped and it feels way too hard. No in-between, hence I'm not a big fan of them. Give me something to work out!! |
speedqueenkmw
May 24, 2007
| I also thought of pla-dough but got it after the hint. nice job |
2ndhandrose
May 24, 2007
| I also thought of a prism. But then it came to me in a flash.
Try The Cube.
I laughed when I was right.
Thanks all who make these up. I will try one day & open myself up
to ridicule as one memeber wrote.

However, I do think you did a good job. |

May 24, 2007
| Well written!! I had just seen "The Pursuit of Happyness" and the Rubik's Cube was fresh in my mind.
Good Job!
Oh, and LMURRAY, are you speaking of one specific Korean lad? I believe the current record is held by American Toby Mao at 10.48 secs. http://www.recordholders.org/en/list/rubik.html |
craniac
May 24, 2007
| I didn't understand the reference to "race." Can someone explain? Got the answer, though. |

May 24, 2007

| I loved it! Rubiks cubes are my best friends. I memorized the directions that my own came with and now I can solve any rubiks cub in minutes. (shhhh, dont tell) |
mband
May 25, 2007
| Err... "to mix them up again is way more fun" is a rather subjective statement that doesn't really belong in a riddle. I personally preferred solving it to mixing it up. |
