What Am I?
Riddles are little poems or phrases that pose a question that needs answering. Riddles frequently rhyme, but this is not a requirement.
You have no control over me,
I am not real, though sometimes you believe me,
I come back every night, but am often forgotten,
Though left alone, I will never become rotten,
Sometimes I remind you of things yet to come,
Sometimes, watching me, you do things you've never done,
I rarely ever turn out to be true,
Now I am done with this riddle for you.
What am I?
Answer
A dream.
You cannot pick what your dream is going to be.
Though they are not real, when you are asleep it seems real.
You have a dream every night, but most people forget them.
No one ever bothers, visits, or takes care of dreams (of course not, you can't!) but they don't get rotten (they're intangible, so how could they?)
Sometimes, if an important event is coming up, you will have a dream about it.
In dreams, you may do impossible things.
The events in dreams rarely happen.

| Its funny because I thought it was the boogy man. I have had dreams that has come true some good some bad but they have happened. The ones that I have forgotten has come true but it is more like when it does I say to myself have I done this before or I get that feeling of dejavou. |

| WOW...nice. I've had some trippy dreams where a deseased relative would appear in a dream to tell me everything will/would be ok, 10 days later dianosed w/Cancer & thankfully, so far no return!!!!! Explain that one!! And was it Freud that said WE are all charactors in our DREAMS???!!! Not a fan of him, anyway. |

| gOSH, I must be a grump; I got it, but I think some of the clues could have been better. Maybe you had to sacrifice some clarity for rhyming words. Like the line about you can leave me alone but I never go rotten... That just doesn't seem relevant, although technically it may be true. That was the one line I thought could maybe be improved or replaced, but good work, I appreciate the thought that went into it! |

| This teaser is very good. To be honest Dreams that I have I remember them and yes sometimes what I dream does come true. I usually remember my dreams. I dream every night. When I wake in the mornings I recall them.

So it was easy...it was also cleverly written, fun and a teaser!!! It's nice sometimes, to not have to do research or be a rocket scientist to get a riddle. Kudos to Emily. |

| yeah by now i think only three of my dreams came true or close to true
also i am basing this on my dreams because i don't really know about anybody else's (i don't run a dream collection box or anything crazy like that)...
and i'm not exactly a very good riddle-maker (although when i'm in the mood i can be pretty good at poetry) so don't expect any like 4.0 difficulty teasers...
anyway... probably won't see any action from me for a while so bye |

| Dreams are complicated things, there are only theories about them. but it is true that everyone dreams every. Most dreams go unnoticed though and are forgotten. You usually have many dreams in one night.

| I am sure someone has mentioned it already in the thread, but LUCID DREAMING is all about controlling your dreams. It is a real thing. You grasp hold of the fact that you are dreaming then you can consciously manipulate what happens.
Inception's Blu-Ray had a nice piece about it.
That being said, the WHOLE teaser is false. |

| that riddle was good. i like dreams. usually i dream what will happen. then i scare my sister and say i can predict the future. my friends and i have fun with that. what's scary, it's true. i once dreamed my sister opened a gift she got in china, and when i woke up, i found out she actually did open it up, just like i dreamed it. scary |
