Brain Teasers
Storigram III
Below is a (very) short story with 10 capitalized words or phrases which are anagrams of words that all fit in a certain category. Can you find the anagrams and determine the category?
A salesman with a CHIC NAME and the ability to quickly MATCH PAIRS of shoes that PERTAIN to CITY SHIPS was talking to a CHEATER. "I saw you paint a STRIPE on that SCARY TREE," he said, "and you had better remove it before I REPORT you. OUR HAT wearing club will be on you before you can even TRY A NOTE on that slide whistle."

Great teaser! My brain was on off though because I didn't get any Good job!!
I didn't get all of them, but it was fun trying though. Good Job.
Great teaser! I really enjoyed it. I especially liked the fact that you picked pharmacist as one of the careers.
Got stuck on "PORTER", 'cause I thought the "I" was part of it, but other than that, a pretty decent challenge.
that was pretty darn good!, Loved it, thanks
Another good one, phrebh.
Stumped me!
Stumped me!
Loved it phrebh. Got all but two, both beginning with ph, should have known since it was your teaser that the hardest ones would start with ph. Thats ok tho. I also had to look at the clue to find out what I was looking for, then it became fairly simple. Great job tho and it looks like I am the first one to post on this new release. Will have to come back to see how everyone else did.
I didnt get it at all, must be too early for this stuff. hehe
I just couldn't see it. Don't know why because after you see the answers it is pretty obvious. Must not be awake yet. Thanks and keep them coming.
Not a clue..
After I found out what the catagory was, I had fun figuring it out. Good job.
well I got part of it after figuring out what to do
I got a couple ... but only after seeing the hint. I guess "CHEATER" was the easiest for me ... Thanks for a GREAT one, and keep 'em coming!
WOW , prebh .not me , not today . i looked and decided this one might make me cry ! so i gave in . maybe later today .awesome work !
good one there were a few i didn't get
My bad, Prebh! I love word puzzles and gave up on this before even trying. Then I felt like a jerk. Great puzzle...give us quitters another chance.
Yes, really haaarrrrddddddd! But, I got them all but two!!!!! yea! Took me a good long time, and I had to bring up notebook to try every combination. I knew the category after getting priest and teacher, but that didn't make it any easier! I do agree with the other person above that the "I" before "REPORT" was misleading... Unfairly misleading... Maybe putting braces around the words or something similar would avoid that kind of confusion?
In any case, good one, and difficult in a good way, thanks!

I'm glad I'm not the only one a little confused. The titles worked out ok, but I'm not sure about the story.
I was compleatly lost on this one but according to everybody else it was good . So good job from a dummy
This was great! I figured out the category right away because I got priest, teacher, attorney, and porter, but then I got tired and couldn't figure out the rest. Saturday is not a great thinking day for me. But I do love anagrams and use them in school with my 3rd graders.
i understand how these words are anagrams... but i dont really understand how they fit in the story. are they supposed to? will somebody explain it to me?!?!?!?
it really got me thinking thought... good job... i guess

Azbeel, I could be wrong, but I don't think the story and the job titles are actually connected. Phrebbh was just trying to put the scrambled words into a story that sort of tied together ... Someone please correct me if I'm wrong!
Anagrams are tricky but fun! I only got 5 of these but it's all good. Great job!
Fun teaser...funny story. I didn't get all of them, but I loved it my friend!!
wow, that was a good one!!... I tried to put PERTAIN CITY SHIPS together.. not sure why I did that?!, and got psychiatrist and the letters for pine, and kept going.. WHAT?!! that got me stuck, and for some reason so did attorney.. but that was GREAT!
Wow, am I the only one who got them all so far? It took me all day, granted, off and on, but I enjoy anagrams. It wasn't clear if it was "REPORT" or "I REPORT" but very well done otherwise.
huh??? let me go back to sleep....
It might have been a little easier
if you'd said that "Below are 18
capitalized words that are anagrams of 10 words". Just a
thought. Otherwise it was fun and
fairly easy.

Great fun. Thank you! Only got a couple of them, tho. Thanks again..
UH, suckas! I got them all! YAY-yuh! I won't lie, it took me a while. Started them yesterday, and finished them today, and I almost got hung up on "porter" because of that "I," but I eventually got them all. I'm starting to really like anagrams. Great teaser!
Wow, this one was sure a tough one!!! Only got three of 'em right, but that was enough for me to figure out what category they fell into. "REPORT"="PORTER" was one of the ones I got right, 'cause I sort of remembered automatically that "I" is supposed to be capitolized anyway... heh heh, not tricky, just simply paying attention to the proper usage of the English language!
Good garlic, user! How did you expect me to figure that one out, exactly? Ahem...good, good, tho hard, and keep 'em comin!
