Garbled Proverbs
In my college days, I had a History professor whose hobby was famous proverbs. Since he had a know-it-all attitude, I decided to challenge him one day. I made a little wager that he couldn't decipher my proverbs. I fooled him by using synonyms.
Can you figure out the often used proverbs that my professor couldn't?
1. Greater delayed than not ever.
2. Don't dillydally till nevermore what you can do in present.
3. Disuse not, crave not.
4. Act unto another as you wish them transact to you.

Thank. I thought this was fun too.
Good teaser sgt!
Good teaser sgt! I didn't think they were all that hard.... makes me WONDER a little about your history professor "smarts".
One constructive comment I'd like to make:
In the saying "Waste not, want not," I am pretty sure the "want not" is referring to a meaning other than "to crave". In the context of this proverb, "want" means "to have need of", or "to lack" something.
If you were to make the proverb into a sentence it would say something like:
"If you don't waste things, you will
have what you need."
Hope my explanation is clear enough!! Its an easy mistake to make. Otherwise, great job!!

Actually I thought of a better example sentence:
"If you don't waste things, you will not lack (or want) for anything."
"If you don't waste things, you will not lack (or want) for anything."
I really enjoyed this teaser. It was very easy but enjoyable just the same
I wouldn't use 'want' in the clue since it is in the answer.
I don't believe the verb "transact" can be followed by "to" - sounds very awkward to me.
It's actually a very difficult maxim to rephrase "cryptically", as it's meaning seems to be obvious no matter how you phrase it.
Maybe "Transact with the rest as per your desire to have them transact with you" would be better...just a suggestion.

Thanks for the suggestions folks. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
