Ivor Scruluce often mislays things and last week was no exception. Luckily, however, various members of the public noticed that he'd left things behind and ran after him to give them back. What was left behind on each day, at which place and who returned his property to Ivor that very same day, before he'd realized it was missing?
1. Pete left the train two stations earlier than he had intended, chasing Mr. Scruluce along the platform to return an item.
2. Ivor left his wallet behind (not on the train) later in the week than he forgot to pick up his house keys, which had fallen from his pocket, but one day earlier in the week than the day on which he lost his watch (which also wasn't on the train).
3. John is the taxi driver who noticed that Ivor had forgotten his briefcase. He returned it earlier in the week than the day on which Ivor lost his car keys.
4. Lynda picked up something in the car park the day after Ivor's house keys were returned to him by Kenny.
5. Something was left behind in the waiting room of the doctor's surgery on Tuesday.

Answer
John returned the briefcase left in a taxi (clue 3) and Kenny returned the house keys (clue 4). The item Pete found on the train (1) wasn't a wallet or watch (2), so car keys. Tuesday's item was left in the waiting room (5), so not by Lynda (4), thus Kenny's find wasn't on Monday. Monday's find wasn't the wallet or watch (2), or car keys (3), so the briefcase. Tuesday's wasn't the wallet or watch (2), so house keys and (4) Lynda's find in the car park was on Wednesday. This wasn't the watch (2), so the wallet. By elimination, Sandra found the watch on a bus. Sandra's find was on Thursday (2), so Pete's was on Friday. Thus:
Monday, briefcase, taxi, John
Tuesday, house keys, waiting room, Kenny
Wednesday, wallet, car park, Lynda
Thursday, watch, bus, Sandra
Friday, car keys, train, Pete

Something my teacher would throw at me...lol
"Tuesday's wasn't the wallet or watch (2), so house keys and (4) Lynda's find in the car park was on Wednesday." Ok this says that the house keys were on Wednesday but the answer says the house keys were found on Tuesday. Got me a bit confused here.
Freezinjoe, it does sound a bit confusing the way it's worded, but what it's actually saying is that the housekeys were found on Tuesday, then goes to say Lynda's find was on Wednesday. The "and" makes it seem as if Lynda is linked with the keys when she's not. It could have read something like, "therefore, Lynda's find was on Wednesday".
Great teaser! I enjoyed it very much. I actually had to break out the pen and paper for this one.
