Language brain teasers are those that involve the English language. You need to think about and manipulate words and letters.
These word pairs are not in relation to each other, but if you find their synonyms, the two words will rhyme.
Example : Over-sized Feline = Fat Cat
Kiss Dog
Funny Cat
Movie Monster
Unusual Rabbit
Copper Teapot
Wedding Limo
Untamed Minor
Answer
Smooch Pooch
Witty Kitty
Feature Creature
Rare Hare
Metal Kettle
Marriage Carriage
Wild Child

blue4ever16
Mar 08, 2006
| why does everyone think that funny bunny would work???? funny and unusual are NOT synonyms, therefore, it would not work |

| I agree. Not too hard, not too easy.Us "older" brains had a chance. Thanks for the teaser. |
elshawno
Apr 10, 2006
| yep, it sure is agreeable, but, it was also fun, just like everyone else said. |
coachpisco
Apr 10, 2006
| Unusual rabbit could have been FUNNY BUNNY. Lots of fun. Thanks. |

Apr 10, 2006
| In some parts of the country funny and unusual ARE synonomous, like here in Pennsylvania. |
BeckyD
Apr 10, 2006
| I agree... funny and unusual CAN be synonyms... Such as, "There's something funny going on here." I missed witty kitty and feature creature, though. The others were fairly easy enough. I like this kind of teaser! |

Apr 10, 2006
| That was a really good one. Keep up the good work! |

Apr 10, 2006
| I liked this one, but was trying to get Bride's ride to fit. Oops. Even us old ones have trouble with some of these. |
nstock
Apr 10, 2006
| Gonna be a real pedant here - rabbit and hare are not synonyms, they are different animals! Also (and as a tea-drinking Brit, I should know), tea-pot and kettle are not synonyms, you boil water in a kettle but you never, ever boil water in a teapot!!
Shame, cos otherwise it wa a fun puzzle. |

Apr 10, 2006
| WOW
is there going to be a deathmatch over this whole funny bunny business ? |
kimberlykay
Apr 10, 2006
| I thought is was a fun and cute teaser. I too thought of funny bunny though. Just remember, when people tell you the conclusions that they came to, it is not meant to criticize...only to be another option. Try not to take it personally because this is all in fun. You did a really nice job with this teaser. I liked it and I hope you submit more. |
KatV
Apr 10, 2006
| I LOVED IT!!! I got most of them!!! I missed the monster one...and the witty kitty one, but it was good!!! |

| These daily teasers are merely for fun, if you want facts not factoids try the Encyclopædia Britannica or Wikipedia; give these writers some slack. So many comments lately seemed like a CWOT. This teaser was a little challenging but I found it fun. Good job. Thanks. |

Apr 10, 2006
| As I have said before, it just adds to the fun to have multiple possibilities. Relax and ENJOY!!! |

Apr 10, 2006
| Good one, although witty is not a word normally associated with unusual it will serve. True a hare and a rabbit are different, that is a picky picky critique. Although a teapot is not used in GB to heat water, in the US whatever pot handy. If we were a nation of tea drinkers perhaps we would choose the propper pot. |
kashby
Apr 10, 2006

| Got most of them. I thought tea was more popular in Great Britain than US. Oh, well. Thank you. |
shawneeo
Apr 10, 2006
| I missed two, I never think of the word "pooch" for dog, and I don't really think "carriage" is right for limo, but aside from that, I got em! I think bride ride is great, and also I got "funny bunny" but when I find an alternative answer I consider it correct! Thanks! |

wordmama
Apr 10, 2007
| The newspaper tell us how many syllables there are; that's why I only got smooch pooch, rare hare, and wild child. My mind was stuck on one syllable!! I'll try to remember to be more flexible next time! |

Apr 19, 2007
| I really enjoyed this one! I got "bride ride" for wedding limo, but that's part of the fun. I laughed during your teaser, and that's what I like. Thank you so much! |

FatHead
Apr 10, 2010
| I agree with Madelulabelle, isn't "witty" supposed to mean clever?
And aren't most kettles made of metal? That one was confusing.
Oh well, good teaser. |
avonma
Apr 10, 2010
| I only got a few
but that was fun!
Thanks! |
dalfamnest
Apr 11, 2010
| This was fun indeed. However, I agree with criticism about "synonyms" which are not synonyms. "Synonym" is a technical word and should not be used here. That aside, the concept is really good! |
Babe
Apr 10, 2013
| very good! |
HABS2933
Apr 10, 2013
| Got all but "Feature Creature". Agree that synonym is not exactly accurate but gives the general idea of what you are looking for, so it does not detract from the puzzle. |

Apr 10, 2013
| I had tan pan for copper teapot |
thecatladycac
Apr 10, 2013
| I figured out only 2 of them - was just too tired to make my brain work any longer and didn't want to wait until tomorrow to try again! I also came up with funny bunny - I love reading all the comments and what alternate answers other people come up with! Nice Teaser - |
