A Van
A van travels a maximum of 100 km/h. Its speed decreases in proportion with the number of passengers. The van can carry a maximum of seven people. Given that the van can travel 88 km/h with 3 people in the van, what will be the speed of the van when 6 people are on board?
Hint
(100-88)/3=4 km/hr/personAnswer
100 - 3t = 88100 - 88 = 3t
t = 12/3
t = 4 km/h reduction in speed per person
When six persons are on board, the van travels at
100 - 6t = 100 - 6(4) = 76 km/h.

So the van can move at 100K/hr with no one driving it? Remote control?
Yup.
with each person added to the van the speed slowed by 7.3333333km not six
+3 people = 100-88=22/3=7.3333333
So if 3 people = a 22km/h change then 6 people= a 44km/h change. so the answer is 66Km/h
+3 people = 100-88=22/3=7.3333333
So if 3 people = a 22km/h change then 6 people= a 44km/h change. so the answer is 66Km/h
hahaaa i put 22 ha oh sorry, your right
thats easy
100-88=12,
therefore 88-12=76
100-88=12,
therefore 88-12=76
The answer is 70, not 76.
100 mph with one person. Add two more and the speed decreases by 12, so 6 mph per person. Add three more and it goes 18 mph slower. 88 - 18 = 70.

Yeah I like others got the answer as 70. It should be able to be assumed that the "100 km/hr" means with one person driving.
I don't think so. The teaser says the MAXIMUM speed of the van is 100km/h, not that that IS the speed with someone driving.
