Brain Teasers
Cornered At #10 Plaza
Logic-Grid
Logic Grid puzzles come with a handy interactive grid that will help you solve the puzzle based on the given clues.Logic-Grid
On the same day last year, four good citizens chose to go on errands that coincidently took them to the four corners of #10 Plaza (called that because that is where 10th Avenue intersects 10th Street). Who the people were, the objects of their objectives, and where they went may be determined by following the clues below.
PEOPLE: Al Ive, Ben Efits, Lon Ely, Sal Ary
OBJECTS: speech, mural, water, coffee
CORNERS: northeast (NE), southeast (SE), northwest (NW), southwest (SW)
PLACES: Gastric Grocery, Late Newspaper, Todaze Drugs Pharmacy, Mold Memorial Fountain
CLUES:
1. That was the day he came to fill the watercoolers in the Late Newspaper building.
2. On the corner in front of Gastric Grocery, Sal Ary talked for a little while with Ben Efits about the mural Lon Ely was painting in the building across 10th Street, and then he, Sal, went inside to buy coffee.
3. Ben Efits waited until the southbound 10th Street bus passed close by in the right lane, then he crossed 10th St., turned left, and crossed 10th Avenue to that corner where he intended to deliver a speech about the benefits of public speaking.
4. As Lon Ely was coming from working on his deepsea mural in the Todaze Drugs Pharmacy, he could hear Ben Efits yelling something about speaking. The decibels were coming from the Mold Memorial Fountain directly across 10th Avenue.

ok, so tgis one would be really great, i had a really hard time trying to figure out where 10th ave and 10th st were, also how two streets creat 4 corners...
Sorry, I need a spellcheck!!
i got it all right but there's no real way of knowing what building is on the SE SW NW or NE corners since there are no directions given besides "across the street."
well besides the bus which is confusing in itself.
Very confusing. I'm probably wrong, but I think more information is needed to really solve this puzzle.
lol its confusing and long but good!
I really enjoyed the challenge. Thanks!
Very interesting puzzle. Trying to figure out the corners of 10th and 10th were challenging. I think you gave just the right amount of clues. It was a small trial and error process. Well done.
I got all confused about NE, NW, SE, SW, so I just guessed. And ended up getting 2 outta the 4 correct. lol but I thought it was rather hard to come up with the directions.
nice!!!!!!!
I loved the little extra brain work to find the corners. A simple north-south line crossed by an east-west line and using clue #3 is really all it takes. Thanks for the fun!
That was fantastic! I really enjoyed the directions and the extra logic required to piece together the street corners. Great job!
Fantastic Teaser!! I don't understand how it has so few stars! Not that hard, and yet it still requires a little bit of thought. And the best part is clue 1 isn't even needed! Love it!
Great Teaser!!! Loved the twist it has!!
What a great teaser! It took spatial reasoning skills that are rarely, if ever, utilized in logic problems. Nice work!
I like this! I drew an open cross and labeled the four corners 1st after orienting the picture w/ an arrow pointing North. Then I used the info. re: the bus being southbound... I was able to get it first time. Great puzzle.
great puzzle! i loved the spatial reasoning aspect as well. thanks for a fun, quick, and yet "make you think" puzzle.
Love the extra bit of thinking about the directions.
thought a first ... nah, makes no sense, but reading and thinking resulted in a correct solution
The thing that threw me off was that I accidentally had Ben go right instead of left, so the trickiest thing was figuring out how the buildings were laid out. Everything else was pretty easy. I could see how figuring out the direction he was coming from is tricky, but it's there. All in all, a good teaser.
