Curtail M
Language brain teasers are those that involve the English language. You need to think about and manipulate words and letters.
When you curtail a word, you remove the last letter and still have a valid word. You will be given clues for the two words, longer word first.
Example: Begin -> Heavenly body
Answer: The words are Start and Star.
1. Attract or please through personality -> To burn; scorch
2. Giving out moderate heat -> Conflict between nations
3. Kingdom; domain -> True; genuine
4. Solid, hard; fixed in place -> Type of evergreen tree
5. Remove from the surface; glide on a surface -> Narrow runner for gliding on snow
6. Line formed by sewing two pieces together -> Large body of salt water
7. Sew the edge of a cloth -> Male person
8. Agriculture site -> At a great distance
HintThe words start with these letters:
1. C
2. W
3. R
4. F
5. S
6. S
7. H
8. F

| Excellent. Easy but fun, though I'm not so sure how easy it would have been without the hints. |

| Very easy, but enjoyable. I didn't need the hints and didn't even notice until after I solved all of them that the title itself is a hint. |

| Another great teaser Marc. Got them all, pretty easy but lots of fun.
Gayle - though I know the message was not intended for me and I don't have a clue where "Grand Blanc" is, I do in fact live very close. Grand Blanc translates as "Great White", which is of course how Canada is known - "The Great White North".
*And yes I know it could also be translated as "Big White". (I'm after all Canadian - I speak French) |
