Good Job jakeodee!
Nice one! Being an avid Mets fan, this was easy. However, I have heard of a strike out being called a "fan" also.
I thought the "on deck" batter waited in a circle off to the side. The actual box, drawn in chalk next to the plate is the "batter's box". Other than that slight descrepancy, I found it quite enjoyable.
the title gave it away nice job though
You are right hed2dasky, I knew that the batter's box is where the batter stands not the on-deck batter, considering I am a huge baseball fan/player. Someone is correcting it right now. If you are the one correcting it thank you.

Baseball allright,we need more like this.Lots a fun.
The pitchers mound is also called "the box" (even though the pitching box was replaced by the pitching rubber about 1880). I quickly saw they were baseball terms, but it was still hard to find the answer.
I dismissed "fan" (short for "fancier") as too far removed from the rest, but then settled on "fan" (slang for strikeout).

Actually Barticus, the box is the batter's box and the fan is a fan (short for fanatic) at the baseball game. Don't overthink it so much
Actually, the batter stands in the batter's box, and the coach stands in the coaching box, but if you say just "the box" that means the pitching mound. If "fan" (from fanatic) counts, then I could point out that you "square to bunt" or "hit a round ball with a round bat squarely" then "sprint" to first base. However, if we stick to nouns "fan" is the best answer.
Just to over think it a little more, a grand slam is the taking of all 13 tricks in a hand of whist or game derived therefrom (such as bridge). The term is also used in baseball.
