loved this one.
YEAH DUDE7!!! you are too cool.
That was cute. I should have got it, Clue was one of my favorites when I was a kid!
The original name of the game is Cluedo, which is a pun on Ludo. Ludo is called Pachisi in the USA, so the name of the Cluedo was changed to Clue. I like this teaser, but Cluedo shoudl be listed as an alternate answer.
Right you are, my dear Barticus. It was originally a UK creation.
cute. i got a couple. whats up with some people? they waste so much energy by being aggrivated. thats not what life is all about.
thank goodness for braingle.
thank goodness for braingle.
Fortuately I played a game of Clue with my family less than a week ago. That, and this, were both fun.
I love Cluedo!
How cute. I got all the colors, but certainly didn't put them together with Clue. Thanks for starting off my day with a smile.

I think it's Reverend Green...not Mr.
I never played Clue, so I didn't have one, a clue, that is.
This was a really great teaser! I had to look at the answer(s) but it was fun. I've never played the game Clue, but I've seen the movie a few times. It's hilarious! It has Tim Curry, Madeline Kahn, Michael Keaton, Leslie Ann Warren, Christopher Lloyd, and I forget who else, but it was a riot!
Oh, I remember now.... Mr. Green was played by Michael Keaton, Professor Plum was Christopher Lloyd, Mrs. Peacock was Eileen Brennan, Mrs. White was Madeline Kahn, Miss Scarlet was Leslie Ann Warren, Colonel Mustard was Martin Mull, and Tim Curry played the butler.
Oh boy, this was an excellent one!! Used to play that game with the family not too many years ago, but *still* didn't put the CLUEs together to get the correct answer! Very very fun indeed!!
And, right you are smee, that movie was fanshmabulous!!! Mr. Curry is priceless!!

Personally, as a non-Clue player and an American, I learned a great deal from this. Not just from the clues and the answers, but also from the questions and answers in the comments. Keep 'em coming!!!

Well Life...I too was clueless. The hint threw me off though.Board games, plural....I got Clue a coule of times and was trying to work in monopoly and ladders and shutes and trivial pursuit..you get the idea/ Great way to start off the New Year.
This is a really great teaser . Not too easy , and not too hard . I got it too! (It's impressive for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Keep 'em coming!
I love this puzzle!! As an avid clue player, this is top-notch!
Excellent - like two for one thinking. I always loved Clue. Thanks for the fun.
darnnnnnnnn...I missed a couple of the colors, and was so preoccupied with those, I couldn't even move on to the board game name!! ...I love these little faces!! LOL Good job!!

exceelent teaser- i loved it
exceelent teaser- i loved it
didnt get it pretty hard for me
I never played clue. What the heck is it.? I got the plum and white ones right. It was okay.
I didn't get it! I noticed a "u" in mustard, then two "u"'s in the two months between May and July, so then I was on a roll... the wrong way...
Oh well, to feel better, I'll complain: I don't know if white is really considered a "neutral" color. Since "ecru" IS a "neutral" color, that gave more ammunition to my "u" theory. I'm not totally sure, but I don't think of white as neutral, that's like, beige, ecru, tan, isn't it? White is at one end of the scale, it's an extreme.
Thanks though, still fun and good!

Fun and creative! Good job! Keep 'em coming!
I was stuck on green as both May and August are 5 months from their side of the calendar. My daughter helped out with scarlet, and she figured out it was Clue.
We had fun!
Thanks!

Gr8t teaser. I got half of it. Been awhile since I played clue. Really fun. Gr8t job!
WOW!
Is there any other game else beside the game of Clue, that has a combination of mustard and plum in it? Fun teaser.
I've never played Clue, so I didn't get this one. However, I was thinking about colors of the rainbow. The teaser was cute though. Thanks.
Ditto Coachpisco.
OMG! My parents had us playing Clue, just after we starting learning words in childhood....lol And, I am only a baby-boomer. The professor was always my favorite The candlestick, the revolver, and a few more items were there too. And the different rooms ....
Fun concept, but simple if you know the game, I figured it out after Mustard and Plum.
FYI Its called Clue in North America, Cluedo in the rest of the world.

THE "CLUES" WERE OBVIOUS, BUT THE COMMONALITY WAS THE TRICK.
GOOD ONE!

very creative
Cute!!
Good Job! It took me a minute after I figured out they were all colors to put it together with the game "Clue." I'ver never heard of "Cluedo" either.
Excellent!
Excellent!
Good one! I figured it was from the game of Clue, but couldn't remember all the characters as it's been so long since I've played it. It was fun though!
ooOOh, so I should have played Clue before I tried this.
Nice One! I got all the clues, but the link? Very tricky!
Oh! I forgot to mention, for all the people confused about the name, Clue is its North American name, while Cluedo is its original British name.
this was a good one
you totaly stumped me
you totaly stumped me
I had half of them, then looked at the hint. As soon as I did I knew it was Clue. Thanks for the childhood reminder of fun sprawled on the floor with friends playing board games!
I really enjoyed this teaser! I was definitely clueless...but still had fun trying! Thanks
Yay, I got this one! Used to play Clue all the time as a kid.
All I needed was Mustard and Plum to get the common thread Clue. Then missed 'green' and got the rest. Fun!
It was interesting to learn the original European name, Cluedo.
And another positive comment from you-know-who!! I'm so excited! I'm pulling for you to keep it up!! Happy New Year!

THIS WAS A GREAT TEASER. I LOVED IT.
That was a great teaser!! I'm still grinning!! I love the game Clue, and I'm half inclined to start calling it Cluedo to join the rest of the world.
I got the answer just from mixing mustard, grape, and white, and then realizing that grape should actually be plum. I had no idea why green worked for the months until I looked at the answer, but I realize now that I should've known.
My sister, who's here visiting, was working through the teaser after I insisted that she'd enjoy the answer... She quickly got peacock to add to the three mentioned above, but had to think about the other two. I told her I didn't see how the clue for #3 fit the answer, in case that helped. After puzzling over it awhile, she said to herself out loud, "I don't have a clue--- OH! CLUE!!!"
I'm gonna go find an online game of clue now.

Mustard, eggplant, 5mths from begin/end of year, magenta, white....aaauuggh But got it from the hint! Fantastic teaser. The nostolgia of playing Clue made this most enjoyable. So, we ALL liked it Keep em coming!!
I got all the colors, but had never played Clue so I only got half the answer.
Very good teaser
Would never have figured it out without the hint. I was clueless
Never played the game, so I was completely clueless.
I got it after getting mustard and scarlett...but couldn't figure out how May and August came up with green. Fun and very creative!
Never played the game, but loved the movie. Wacky cast, great movie. Fun teaser.
I've never played Clue!!!
nice puzzle....
nice puzzle....
OMgoodness! Imurray actually LIKED a teaser! i feel faint from surprise! great one! ive only played Clue twice, so the teaser didnt 'click' with it in my mind good job, though!
Do Americans say Mr Green? In NZ we say Reverend Green.
I got them all except #3, but then I knew that it was green but not why. Soi had 2 look at the answer
I was clueless as I do not play board games. Did not have a clue!!!
I LOVE board games and Clue is one of my favorites - especially with the grandchildren. Thanks for a fun quiz.
After the 1st two (mustard and plum) I figured it must be the characters in the game of clue. Although I got them, I couldn't get the connection between May and August and the color green - until I looked at the answer - very clever!
Love the game and the quiz. Thanks for posting!
My comment would be the same one I made the last time I played this (I didn't even remember playing it before, so no complaints from me about repeats!) Still a fun quiz!
5/6 Not up on my birthstones (except mine, of course). Never having played Clue before I had no 'clue' about the answer.
Like others, once i knew it was the game Clue, I came up with Green fairy easily. I knew the answer was right but not why it was right.
excellent; similar comment about Green

It was so easy for me because I have a t-shirt from woot.com with colonel mustard and professor plum in the library and one with miss scarlet in the lounge. I hope they make some other clue shirts.
Sorry, but too many possible answers to a number of questions, plus inaccuracies and omissions, put me off this teaser!
No mention in the instructions that all answers are colours?
Purple fruit: Eggplant, Grape, Plum etc.
Finely feathered & polychromatic avian friend: Parrot, Rosella, Corella, Lorikeet etc.
Bleached and neutral hue: Ecru( white is a base colour, not neutral )!

Withal, MarkW1, many solvers seemed to have little difficulty with this Teaser. I, personally, found it simple to the point of almost being insulting, and sussed immediately, from the first item, which could only be "mustard", that what was being referenced were the characters in the board-game Clue.
This was simply obtuse. Each of the clues could go to multiple answers. Mustard is typically yellow, not amber. Grapes are a purple fruit too. There are any number of links you could make between May and August, such as them both being names for people, before coming to the color of their birthstones, which most people don't even know anyway. Beige, tan and grey are bleached and neutral colors. And come on, the list of "finely feathered and polychromatic avian friends" is as long as your arm. The only one with no chance for confusion is 5, and that's because you already ruled out crimson.
Easy, since I was a fan of Clue when I was a kid, but I really liked the teaser (likely also b/c I was a fan of Clue as a kid!)
Quite a few haters, it seems, in the recent comments. However, what makes the teaser good is that there ARE many answers for each question, but you need to find a set of answers with a common thread.
Come up with another set of answers (i.e. eggplant, girls' names, etc.) and a way for all the answers to go together, and we can all be impressed. But if you cannot, then the teaser becomes even greater than it already is!

Fun, easy and entertaining teaser; I solved it very quickly.
