Going North
I was going to the North Pole and I met 9 elves. Each elf had 9 reindeer, each reindeer had 9 bags, each bag had 9 puppies and 9 kittens in it. Reindeer, elves, cats, and dogs, how many were going to the North Pole?
Answer
Just me, I met them as they were passing by the other way.(Note: this is a variation of the popular St. Ives teaser.)

you didn't say that. You just said you met them. They could've still been on their way to the North Pole, but were taking a break or were going slower than you.
The reason he didn't tell you that is because you were supposed to figure it out on oyur own. I liked it.
Yeah,
That was A good one. Don't listen to Mike.

pretty good
This is stolen from an old one my grandmother used to tell me that went: "As I was going to St Ives I met a man with 7 wives etc." The original was nice because it rhymed!

I thought the same thing...."As I was going to st. ives, I met a man with 7 wives, every wife had seven sacks, every sack had seven cats. Every cat had seven kittens. Kittens, cats, sacks, and wives, how many were going to st. ives?" good riddle....this was a good riddle also, but easy if you've heard the variations of it before.
i was actually already reciting the "as i was going to st ives, i met a man with seven wives" in my head as i started reading this teaser. i have the same problem with this teaser as i have with the st ives one, nowhere does it say that they're not going to the north pole also (eg, if i'm on a cruise ship going to tasmania, and i meet a man with seven children, it doesn't automatically mean that he's not going to tasmania (in fact if he's on the ship he has very little choice in the matter unless he wants to jump overboard...)
how were the reindeer carry bags that were that heavy o_0
maybe he caught up to them, it never said they were going another way
this is almost exactly the same as the st. ives one cheater
I liked it.
I agree with others- you could easily have been walking faster than the elves.
Elves are small
Small people have small legs
Small legs can't walk as quickly as long legs.

Maybe they were lost St. Ives elves riding dogs.
"Reindeer, elves, cats, and dogs, how many were going to the North Pole?"
doesn't that mean the same as "how many reindeer, elves, cats, and dogs were going to the NP?"
which means the answer is zero, because none of them are going there. you can assume that you are not a reindeer, cat, elf, or dog, so you wouldn't count yourself at all.
