Brain Teasers
Which Door, Fred?
Fred was walking along the street one day when he came across a mysterious looking man standing in front of a building with four doors at its entrance. The first had a red doorbell, the second had a green doorbell, the third had a blue doorbell and the fourth had a yellow doorbell. The man stopped him and asked him to ring the bell of one of the four doors, promising Fred that if he chose the correct door he would be richly rewarded.
"Ring only one doorbell to strike rich instantly Fred" said the mysterious man.
"Do I get a clue?" asked Fred.
"Ah" replied the mysterious man, "I have already given you one."
Fred chose unsuccessfully and left empty-handed. Do you know which doorbell he should have rung?

Answer
Fred should have rung the first doorbell. When you take the first letter from each word of the mysterious man's sentence "Ring Only One Doorbell To Strike Rich Instantly Fred" and read them backwards, you get FIRST DOOR.Fred should have rung the first doorbell.

Good one! The clue was given because the word "it" was missing from the phrase "strike ir ricj" Therefore it had to be something about the words that he said!
there is no way to come to that conclusion.
Sure there is Mogmatt, I got it. It's a good teaser.
I got it too, mogmatt. The whole point of a teaser, and indeed a clue like the man gave, is that you have to think about it. It isn't exactly logical, but it doesn't have to be. Great teaser BTW
I would also have left empty handed , because there's no way in Ireland I could have figured that out from HEARING it! Reading it was much better. Fun stuff!
I got it correct, but for a different reason. I looked for a color buried in the sentence and found red (Fred), which just happened to be the first door.
if it was his own building i woulda said his own cus the guy knew his name...
Good teaser. I got the right door but for a different reason. I took it to mean that the clue was when the man said one door and later said one again. With the word "one" being repeated, I chose door one which was the red door and the first door.
This one took a bit, fun and enjoyable
If it's a "mysterious man" who accosts Fred, and presumably, therefore, a stranger, how did he know Fred's name?
