Colorful Team NamesTrivia brain teasers have some element of trivia in them, but they are not just pure trivia questions.
Among United States professional and college (NCAA Divisions I, II, and III) sports, there are only three teams whose nicknames (nickname meaning "Yankees" in "New York Yankees," for instance) consist ONLY of the name of a color in its singular form. All three happen to be in NCAA Division I. Two of these three teams have very similar logos, each consisting primarily of a large block version of the initial of its college's name -- which both happen to be the same letter. Can you name these two uncannily similar teams?
HintOne of these two teams is in an east coast state, and the other is in a west coast state.
AnswerThe Syracuse Orange and Stanford Cardinal each have a large block letter "S" included in their logos. "Cardinal" refers to the color, not the bird. (The other team with a singular color nickname is the Harvard Crimson.)
