Playfair cipher I reckon. Might be more. Tried clear, clearing, cleards, round.

Well, try a combination of words for the keyword. It's still straightforward.
I've tried all different combinations to try and solve the cipher. No luck so far.

I'm going to fish for Elios right now. The boss could be trying to trick us into thinking that he is younger.
I put in a safety vote for Hadleigh.

To any subscribers with a forum search capacity: if we could find any reference to any players not having a sister that would pretty much definitely clear that player. (I, for one, don't have a sister, but I'm not sure if I've ever mentioned that on Braingle before or not.)
I was initially tempted to agree with the "younger person living at home" school of thought, but this is WTB after all and clever misconstruing of the truth is the name of the game. To me the description sounds like it could be a typical student living away from home - frozen pizza or fast food when left to fend for themselves, taking advantage of family cooking whenever the opportunity arrives. Or it could even be an older person who lives on their own but is still relatively (if you'll excuse the pun) close to their family. I'm not saying either of these are more likely than our Boss simply still living at home, I'm just saying there's nothing in the answer that definitely suggests they do.
Will place a safety vote for LogicalRoger for now.

I dunno. Safety vote for Smithy.
Safety joseph. I just need to say Boss get that family back around the table. Hubby, son and I rotate cooking days and we ALL sit at the table together. I know in the us ppl don't sit together these days except in fast food joints it's a sad sad thing it is. PPL make Fast food eating a only twice a week even month thing that stuff will kill you. yuck.

I agree with Smithy. The phrasing does sound like the Boss lives in the same household as his/her Dad and little sister, but that doesnt have to be the case. Also nothing says an adult can't live with his/her family either. Plus if they're all adults, that may explain their not having "typical family dinners" together (which I assume means at the table together) - if Dad works during the day, lil' sis is at high school/college, and Boss works nights... There may also be additional siblings and a Mom in the mix (just bc they werent mentioned doesnt mean they're not there). Kind of hard to rule out anyone, unless - like Smithy - people don't have younger sisters.
Edit to add: Ok, I tried "clearingclue" "firstclue" "employee" "notboss" "hateciphers" "straightforward" "clueone" "roundone" and "playfair". No luck.

Alas Elios, I think we all agree that the boss would like to fire each and everyone of us at the 1st opportunity.
Sadly the boss doesn't even need to live in the same place as the father and younger sister in order for the memo to be factually correct. Living away from them would also explain the lack of traditional family meals in a rather funny way. On the other hand, the boss may well be a kid still living at home...
I've tried all the obvious key words, most of which have been mentioned already, plus: variations of ihateciphers, bossclearingclue, employeeclearingcleu, notbossorrat, along with GA's various other words of wisdom. Nada...

for the record, i live alone, and do not have any younger siblings.

I live with my parents, but without any younger siblings But I personally think that we are trying too hard on the psych q, misleading or not, we are getting distracted, and that is exactly what the boss wants/needs!
I'm no help with the cipher--I'm terrible at them. I decided a few games ago that I only work on the clue once it has been decoded

I live at home still (with parent) and am the youngest (no younger siblings for me) and all three of my siblings are male (no sisters). It's not important, but let me just say that it has been a long global tradition to live with your parents or move into your husband/wife's parents' house. People only started migrating from a family home due to more easily available housing and a boom in the economy; a shift out of the cultural norm due to availability. Of course, although true, that's mostly just my excuse of why I still live at home. I just hate how social norms don't generally adapt to the current climate. But enough of that rant.
I also don't eat "normal" meals. TV dinners mostly. So while I'm not necessarily living it, at least I'm eating like the stereotypical student. I don't know if I say any of this in the forums (I'd reckon that I've mentioned not having sisters before somewhere).
I might try more guesses on that keyword, but ugh.
Why didn't the Libertarian cross the road?

I wish my five-year-old sister could cook. (She turned five on Nov. 24th. ) My whole family (currently six people) eats dinner together. Always. "Normal" dinners, too. We rarely eat out.
Voting for Days. Everyone else has been voted for, I think.
Might as well try my hand at the clue now.
EDIT: Okay, adrena doesn't have any votes for her either, but I'm keeping my vote on Days. By the way, the right keyword has probably been found already; I bet GA ran it through atbash or something first, though.
EDIT 2: Playfair Breaker couldn't find anything, so I'm pretty sure it's more than just playfair.

Aw, that's very sad for both of you.
Shoot! I've been working on the boss clue, that I've completely forgotten about next round's clearing clue.
I'll get onto that now.
EDIT: Well, next rounds clue isn't really a clue. It's a logic puzzle, and you have to figure out which player is doing said thing, and that player is cleared. Should be exciting. It's more of a challenge, rather than a clue. A nice change, I think.

Well, this round's clue is a Keyword or Playfair - can't remember.
But all my keywords for ciphers are usually the same thing every game (bossclue, or clearingclue etc.) so I decided to change this one SLIGHTLY. It is still REALLY straightforward, just a tiny bit different. What word/s can you add which is basically the same thing, just more specific. Once you've got the keyword, it's basically a clue, and you just have to do a little hunting.
Anyway, I'm off for the night! I'll be back on in the morning. I'm officially on holidays, so I've been getting up at 10am every morning... ahhhh. Except this morning, because I got prank called at 8am. NOT HAPPY ABOUT THAT AT ALL! Grr.

I lived at home 'til age 22, then moved out only bc I transferred to a university (did the community college bit for my core). If the uni had been closer, I probably would have continued to live at home. I can understand why some children are eager to leave home as soon as they can, but why does that automatically make people who choose not to (or, for monetary or logistical purposes, can't) "weird"? I used to laugh at some of my younger "traditional" classmates who left home @ 18 and were rooming with other 18 yr olds who were worse than their parents. SLIGHTLY changed and REALLY straightforward? Hmm... yep. Still no idea. Guess I'll just wait for next round's clue.

I had a couple ideas about the clue, but alas, none were successful...GA, you are kiling us!
I'm not planning to move out next year when I go to college. I enjoy living at home, and I think that it will be a lot more convienent for me. Also, the college I want to get into is stinking expensive enough without an extra $7,000 for living costs! And I agree with you, Elios--everybody seems to look down on me because I am planning to do this next year. They think that I am not independent or social or something. It makes me mad, too.
