Who's The Boss
Game #2715: The Braggart's Bluff
This private game is moderated by LogicalRoger. Please read the rules and contact the moderator with any questions or concerns about this game.
This game finished in 7 rounds.
Sorry for the strange timing everyone.
Here is one part of the boss clue: (the clue is broken up simply because of length)
ralodecpbekjqckslsntdjdljrkqbplv lpympktclsazlajszwldatjclprzwldtjcjltjzd ebjcckjrradjgsadhcpljrdzljabpki slzlpgrqzzabpidjsleybiktjrrkitsaotrikralpqbyqc ktzlssdjnsljrntbrplvdjerqlmrrabrqk ilcbywlwdhhfttqbjsqljjdaybgtjbjbftjbjbbhholv lpymkwlputhbjcdimkprbjrxdsishxxxv
I have only posted one part of it because it is possible, though unlikely, to point to the boss just with this piece. It is doubtful though and more will likely be necessary. I should be able to post more before the end of the round.

Bits and pieces of that are in different languages. Zweiundneunzig is German for 92. gonna check the voting from last round before I vote.

Based on the memo and the boss discussing Dunkin' Donuts, I think we can begin to eliminate people based on where they live and where they have Dunkin Donuts.
ACCORDING TO THE DD WEBSITE:
There are no DD anywhere in Canada except for in Québec, so that should clear me for sure and I think Mathgeek and Shadows as well as I don't believe either of them is Franco. Nor are there any in Great Britan which also clears HermioneGranger.
There are of course a lot of them in the US and there is at least one location in Singapore - which is where TanCW is from. I'll join the TAN vote for now.

Okay then, if I understand this correctly, the object of this game is to blindly follow the leader, nevermind if I don't agree with that vote (and it seems I was correct about Shadows, or maybe I wasn't, who knows?) so here goes, voting TanCW.

I am not very good at these clues, I am at a complete loss as to what either of them so far means. Jayo seems surprised you can go to Dunkin Donuts at 3am, did he truly not know that or is it a cleaver ploy? I am not sure about operating hours in Singapore, but I do know from when I was in Korea and Japan, that things close a lot earlier there than they seem to here
I am thinking that he may not be the best bet for boss, given that Dunkin Donuts is more of an American establishment. Will keep my vote where it is for now, but will be watching to see if there is reason to switch.
Maybe the dog only brings the ball back because he thinks you like throwing it.

According to a story I read while googling "Dunkin Donuts", there are none in Singapore. The article was written in 2007 though, so there may be some NOW. But apparently, if someone in Singapore wanted some of these donuts, they had to order them. I will try to do my research to see if there are any of these restaurants in Singapore NOW, but at the moment, I'm not convinced TanCW is our boss. Could be. . . .we'll see. I do agree, that our boss is young.
HABS, I see you've done some research yourself. Where did you find that Singapore actually had operating DD restaurants now? I'll continue looking, but if you've found this info, it would be good to know the details.

Note: You'll have to scroll down past the map and the list of live links as those just lead to international websites. If you look at the list below that you will see that there are locations in Singapore.
If you want to check on my claim on the Canadian stores, just follow the live link form that site, you will see the default language of the site is French (which would only be done in Québec).

I don't see why Tan and Softball are being accused. Like bradon said: Follow the leader.

Thanks HABS, I had found another site that had been updated at the end of 2010, and it's basically the same as what you've shared. My guess is that all the stores are open 24 hours worldwide? Doesn't mean this is true, just guessing. I am suspecting TanCW a lot, but I'm not convinced enough to place myself in a majority yet. I do believe I'll be joining the Tan majority in a round or two, if things continue to go this route.

Voting for softball. The memo's apology sounds like her.
Don't worry so much about clearing people based on where they live. HABS, MG, and TanCW are not cleared. They may not live in the States, but they very well could've gone there at some point in time. Perhaps HABS is our next suspect?
This clue looks interesting. Will give it a shot. I see Roman numerals at the end there. I should probably get out of bed first, though.

Well it is true I may have gone to the States before (in fact living less than an hour from the border I go a lot), I don't think I've ever been to a Dunkin' Donuts. When I was a teenager (many many many moons ago) before any of us had licenses, we hung out at our local donut shop. Once we were old enough to own cars, we used to go (and I guess I still do) to this place called "Tim Hortons". there is not now, nor has there ever been a DD where I live, Timmies would rush rthem into oblivion.
Not that any of that matters as I don't feel going to a donot shop at 3am. makes anyone unique, just go to Timmies at that time, I promise you you will be far from the only one there.

Dunkin' Donuts of Singapore is hard to research. Before voting for CW, I made sure that they exist in Singapore. Yup, they're even hiring at the airport location. But I didn't think to check the hours.
Nearest I can find relates to (I think) 2 different locations:
Address : 2 Orchard Turn #B2-17 Singapore 238801
Opening Hours : Daily: 10am - 10pm
Oho! The airport location Opening Hours : 6.00am-1.00am at the latest!
In totally unrelated news: I was surprised by how small Singapore is! It has an area of under 300 square miles! And a population of 5 million, yet almost half of the country is covered by greenery! The San Francisco Bay Area (where I reside) is 23 times bigger, yet we 'only' have 7.5 million people!
Edit: Finally found a site that covers Late night haunts in Singapore.
Al Ameen Eating House
Coffee Club (Orchard, 24 hours). 323 Orchard Road.
Fong Seng Nasi Lemak (West, 6 am - 4 am)
McDonald's (multiple outlets, 24 hours). They deliver 24 hours a day, too.
Spize (River Valley, 6 pm - 6 am)
The Roti Prata House on Upper Thomson (Central North, 24 hours)
The Cheese Prata Shop (West, 24 hours)
No Dunkin' Donuts...
Re-Edit: Dunkin' has a Facebook page!
Basic Information
Location Singapore, Singapore, Singapore
Hours Mon - Sun: 10:00 am - 10:00 pm

Whoa. I for one am not going to call the Dunkin' Doughnuts in Singapore, as my parents would be furious when the received the telephone bill.
For now, it's safe to say that no one is officially cleared based on their location. Even if they live in a country with no Dunkin' Doughnuts, they can obviously travel. Therefore, the only real 'clear' we have is Shadows, correct? I also believe we shouldn't assume that the boss is 'young' because they could be thinking about their past. I am not opposing a majority on myself if that's what everyone wants to do next round, but you're wasting your time. I don't think I'd have the patience to type a memo like last round's without banging my head against a concrete wall afterwards.
I guess I'll join the Tan vote just in case the rat is included in that vote, so we have a clear 'clear'.
Ciphers are not my forte, as anyone can vouch for. I will, however, try and help off of the previous posts that analyzed it.
EDIT: Vote for TanCW is confirmed.

The potential Roman numerals are tricky, since Keyword deciphering places an 'x' between any repeated letters.
xicmclxxv = 11, 900, 175 but that is only 1 possible reading, since you need spaces and you have to guess which x's were added by the system. (I just removed 1 x from the trio)

Of course people can travel, but it is more likely someone who lives in a place there is a DD would mention it than someone who lives where there s not one. As I said, it is an hour to the nearest US border crossing from where I live, but I have no idea where (or even if) there is a DD iin Port Huron. There are 53 Tim Hortons in my city. Much easier to go to one of those. [

No, that was last game.
But, that brings an interesting question to my mind.
Only 1 person has been fully cleared to my understanding.
Why have the suspects been narrowed to one or two?
I'm not objecting that I'm not a suspect, but I'm pondering why so many people were disregarded...
It's a couple minutes/hours to research a bit, and throw people off the trail...

Okay, here is another part of the boss clue. Unfortunately you must solve the first part to get to it, but if you solve the beginning and are still stumped this may help.
First Picture
The password for the first picture is the answer to the first part.
Then after solving the first picture the following will open up:
Second Picture
All passwords should be in lowercase since I believe it is case-sensitive.
Why didn't the Libertarian cross the road?

Good job. I'm assuming the "wizard of oz" and such are not the answers, or the final answers should I say, to the clue. I tried all of them in the password and was eventually blocked out. LR, do you have spaces in the passwords, or are they just one word?
Maybe we're looking for the 512nd, 92nd, 31st, etc. letters on that page? Or the first letter on those pages? And if we put them together we'll get the first password.
Sorry I was gone for most of the day. There was a rather inconvenient power outage.

The password is not:
thewizardofoz
thetreasuryofoz (with or without spaces)
lfrankbaum
dorothy
toto
"I discovered I scream the same whether I'm about to be devoured by a Great White or if a piece of seaweed touches my foot." Axl Rose

Neither password has spaces in it.
Also, bit of a hint in that there are more steps to the first part of the clue.
Why didn't the Libertarian cross the road?

Well, I guess tans not the Boss.
Shoot me I'm probably a wolf. Especially if caberet is the Mod.

Guess not, but I didn't have a strong suspicion on him anyway. But we had to get a majority on someone. I welcome the chance to be cleard next round.
Maybe the dog only brings the ball back because he thinks you like throwing it.

If he's not the boss, and that's the way it looks, we're losing some valuable players this round. Unless the boss chooses not to fire anyone, which wouldn't make sense, considering there was a large enough majority on Tan to clear him.

Take all sorrow out of life and you take away all richness, and depth, and tenderness. The capacity of sorrow belongs to our grandeur. It is the furnace that melts hearts together in love.

One thing that caught my eye...
the big dragons are very proud under and dont think children amount to much but mother says that someday we will all be very powerful and important
Notice that the word "under" appears in the boss clue, but not in the scripture freakshow gave us.
Could the mean that "under" could lead to something bigger about that line?
Parents are supposed to "protect" their kids, but there's a real distinction between protection and unrealistically keeping children away from reality. - Life_Sucks --- One of my teasers was featured as the Teaser of the Day! :D Sept. 18 2011 :D YAY!

Wow that is TINY! To get from the CITY I live in (in Ontario) to the border with Manitoba (next province to the west) would take over 20 hours and that is if you take the SHORT way by going through the USA, if you drive around the lakes (Ontario and Superior) you can add another 4-5 hours. I am at a complete and total loss as to the clues, I have no idea what they mean or who they clear or point to.

I hate clues, especially ciphers. Now that most of it has been sorted out, though, I'll try and help the best I can.
I have an idea, though it probably isn't correct. What if the words are mostly put there to throw us all off, but in reality, the numbers are the only thing we need to focus on. If you read only the numbers and look for math-related words, you get 512 under 92, which could potentially be a numerator and denominator relationship. Of course, I can't really see any other relationship between other numbers within the clue, so my thought is most likely completely out there. Sorry I am awful at clue-solving.

Like Softball, I suck huge at trying to solve ciphers. Riddles and trivia I am not too bad at, but codes are definitely not my thing.
So if we go with 512 under 92 (92/512) which reduced to its simplest form is 23/128 not sure if either of these numbers means anything but I am with Softy,I think perhaps we should spend a bit of time considering the numbers as more important factors in the clue.

I've been working on the clue for a bit (I love ciphers!). Basically, we have snippets of a passage of that book; between those snippets are these "number phrases" in various languages. What I noticed was that every single one of those had a C in there that didn't really belong (according to Google Translate), separating two numbers. It took me a while to figure out the language and where to put spaces - the Japanese one was nearly impossible and I had to give myself a crash course on Japanese numbers - but I think I've finally got it.
the big dragons

I think it's a book cipher, and the book is The Wizard of Oz. (It's only one of many Oz stories. Huh. Never knew that.) Maybe the first number is the chapter number and the second is... the letter (or word) in that chapter that we want? Gosh, that's a lot of counting. But in any case, I think each "number phrase" leads to a letter in that book, and if we put all the letters together, we will have the first password.
If any of you are wondering where I got those numbers, what languages they were in, and where I put the spaces, I'm going to double post (gasp!) in a second with all that information.
EDIT: This link might be easier.
We're not looking for words. There aren't enough words in chapters 13 and 16. I don't want to count letters until we have a more efficient method.
