Well since both Randy and Gizzer stated votes for me and I'm still here but htey are gone, I guess that leaves me in the clear.
Maybe the dog only brings the ball back because he thinks you like throwing it.

I for one am going to keep my vote on Jayo, simply because last round we did not reach a clear majority to officially 'clear' them. Especially with the rat, we need a definitive majority this round.
HABS, I agree. You, in my opinion, are in the clear.
EDIT: My vote has been confirmed. I will most likely be on later tonight to check in.

Voted for scrub88 for the time being. Will mostly come back and take a look a couple more times before the voting ends.
Shouldn't we be looking at a short list of everyone who said they voted for Jayo?
Now I have time. The only way we become lemmings is if both the rat and the boss voted for Jayo.
So our short list should be Bradon, mru, Lawlor, Skybet or softball.
My first thought is Sky because he always gets confused about the rules. We should review the clues with these guys in mind.

Just waiting for the plane flight home. Hopefully we can land in Denver tonight.
mru has said virtually nothing. HABS and Softball seem more like rats or employees than the boss. I am leaning mru or Sky.

Not sure why but I feel the boss is NOT American. This would leave:
kvthegreat - India
Gizzer - Canada
Lawlor - England
Sky- England
Of these only Lawlor and Sky voted for Jayo so I am guessing the boss is one of those two.

Thanks for confirming my thinking about on the list HABS. What do you think about mru?
Isn't gizzer american? Isn't she fired?
And what about Harry? If you count Gizzer as not American, shouldn't Harry be on your list too?
Habs, any reason why you didn't add HP to your non-American list? He's being awfully quiet which makes me wonder about him.
Going back over the prompt responses, I think it's still impossible to determine either the sex or nationality of the murderer. What am I missing?
I'm going to safety vote for HarryPutter for now, but will be back to see what everyone else thinks.
Edit: Vote confirmed. And to note that Scrub and I both had the same idea at the same time.

I didn't add Harry, because given the fact that voters for me were fired, and yu can only be on the firing list if you vote for the candidate, I must have been the candidate.
4 peope stated votes for me
6 stated votes for Jayo
If all 6 Jayo's voters were legit, he would have been the candidate not Me.
Therefore, Jayo could not have had more votes than I did.
This would indicate that both the boss and rat claimed to vote for Jayo, but did not (if only one did, then Jayo would still have had more votes than I did (5-4) ERGO - the boss and rat must be among the Jayo voters.

Deb, voting for Harry or me makes no sense. See HABS posting. It better explains what I was saying. You need to look at the five people (not HABS) who voted for Jayo. The boss must be among them unless they lied about their vote.
And HABS, I have met quite a few Mexicans who really don't like it that people from the USA seem to claim American for themselves. They constantly remind me we are all North Americans. I guess Canadians are not so sensitive about that piece of heritage
Since its a long time since Ive played, Id like to ask two questions if it isnt against the rules for people to answer them.
a) What happens when there are two people are tied for candidates?
b) What happens when the Rat is the candidate?
a) What happens when there are two people are tied for candidates?

I know my vote went to Jayo, I just wonder if everyone else who said they voted for Jayo really did, and if everyone who said they voted for HABS really did. If you are correct, Scrub, and everyone voted as they stated, and both the Rat and the Boss voted for Jayo, then the votes would have been tied. But what if someone lied about who they voted for, I think that would that change things, wouldn't it? And Kv's question about the Rat being a candidate merits consideration. I have learned in this game nothing is black and white, there are at least 50 shades of grey mixed in, I think.

Although the probability of the case that the boss and rat voted for Jayo seems highly likely at this point logically, I just dont see the boss and the rat voting for the majority which would lead to such an obvious short list. Especially when it has been mentioned once that the boss was experienced.
I did vote for the Gizzer last round. But somehow I'm a bit lost on some people's reasoning here. I like the theory that the boss + rat claimed a vote for Jayo. So I will vote Lawlor since I agree with Habs

I will vote Lawlor too. It makes sense that he would not want to clear Jayo and that he would sound a little like Jayo.

Why would anybody lie, other than the Boss/Rat? The only people who voted outside the 2 majorities were:
debc1 scrub88

Makes no sense for any of them to lie, and again we go back to Jayo having more stated votes, but me being put up as the candidate.....the ONLY way that makes sense is if BOTH te boss and rat voted together....
I don't think that would change anything at all .... the candidate is just the person who received the most votes, all the people wyo voted for the candidate are up for firing. It is not like the candidate himself gets fired...

If there's one thing I've learned, is that stated votes mean essentially nothing in this game. It's not even possibly the Jayo voters, may have been one or more HABS voters switching to Jayo last minute to get a stronger majority.
Srubb I don;t really trust what you're saying for some reason, it sounds like you're trying to manipulate the rules to your own agenda. You can't really say "X must be, unless..." nothing "must" be, if there follows the word "unless". Means there is a way or ways that this isn't so.
Getting a rat vibe from scrubb.
Just putting in a safety for Jayo for now.

Besides, the rules say this: "Players may only discuss who they will vote for during the current round. Once the voting deadline passes, players may not say who they voted for or whether they voted for who they said they would vote for. Any violations of this rule will put those players on the firing list for rule infractions."

Sky, you are right, stated votes don't always mean much on here but are you are suggesting that more people voted for me than the stated votes suggest? Why would anyone change their vote and not mention it? And for that to be the case multiple people would have had to do a silent switch.
The ONLY players with a motive to lie about their votes are the boss and rat.
I am voting SKY this time.

i need to find the last game i played
i think froggy explained this so well it all made sense
This space is intentionally left blank.
There were 4 stated votes for HABS: from Jayo, Skybet, Thekid, and dcf. That should have made HABS the candidate and everyone voting for her lemmings. Therefore, I would have expected those who were fired to be from this list. That's how the game works. They would be safe only if HABS was the Boss (which clearly, she wasn't) or at least 2 of these people didn't actually vote for HABS. The most obvious reason for that would be that the Boss and Rat are in this group.

My apologies for not following the rules. I'm just frustrated because I'm sure there is something that we missed that would explain why the Habs voters were fired when Jayo appeared to have a clear majority, and besides if Snowy was disturbed she would have said so. Anyhow, I guess maybe "lied" was too strong a word to use, perhaps there was a last minute change in vote or votes that tipped the balance with little or no time to post, or even a phone vote that didn't actually register. I know that has happened in other games, and has resulted in game changes. Mandatories can happen and not be obvious. I'll join the Lawlor vote and hope we can get a clear "clear" this time.

Lawlor could make sense, as I said, I have this feeling (not sure why) that the boss is not American - this would leave HP, Jayo, Sky, and Lawlor, or myself as the only options.
We know i am not the boss, I don't think HP is, which leaves the Europeans. The memos have had a bit of a Jayo flair to them ,which could be Jayo being brazen enough to not even bother to try to hide his identity or someone trying to sound like Jayo.
Lawlor, being his brother (this IS common knowledge right?) may be able to mimic Jay fairly easily.
Torn between Lawlor and Sky, but since several people seem to feel Lawlor is a good choice, I may consider that - but then, as the only cleared player, I don't want to risk getting fired if we are wrong, but on the other hand, the point is to win, and if I don't vote for him, and he IS the boss, I don't accomplish that goal ...

HEY! Follow the rules or I'll kill you all myself! No discussing past votes!
If someone is from S. America, why aren't they considered American, or is this just a N. American label? If so, what do they call themselves? South Americans? Bout the same thing. . . . .
Anyway, I've been under the weather and hadn't read through the posts until now. I'd really rather players not discuss past votes or voting intentions or whether they voted or not in previous rounds. I know it's easy to slip up and do so, I've done it before myself. . . . but only by mistake. So, please be careful. Besides, who's to say you're telling the truth about past votes anyway. . . . . can't believe anything in this game. Not indicating anything in particular about this game, just saying to say it.

I think I will start with the conversation. Sky is right when he says that we can't talk about whom we voted for, if we switched or if we forgot to vote, etc. I don't think any of us are talking from that perspective. I have been talking from stated votes as captured by HABS at the end of last round. Now, of course this is all speculation, as is the conversation about why two of the voters for HABS got fired when her majority was two stated votes short of Jayo's. What we have been talking about is how this inconsistency could happen and what that implies about the true nature of the players.

Well, I also agree with the idea of a non-US boss. Some of the phrasing (like the Napoleon Dynamite question) just seems a bit off. Due to the weirdness involving Jayo getting more votes while HABS voters became the candidates, I agree with a Lawlor vote.
I am not trying to be manipulative at all.
The rules say the firings have to come from a list of lemmings. The lemmings come from several sources as explained in the rules - like a rat who fails to complete his/her check - but the main source is from the group of players who cast the largest number of votes for one player.
So now, you have to look for explanations as to how the HABS voters got into the pool of lemmings.

Scrub, I think snow is talking about the players who explicily said "I voted for X last round". We can speculate and read iinto claimed votes (otherwise each round would have us starting fresh with no knowledge gained).
mru has it right ,it is just the wording of some of the memos/prompts seems a bit "odd' for a NORTH American.

Yeah. I found them when I was tallying votes. I didn't even realize it the first time I was reading. As far as voting is concerned, I was actually leaning Sky because he has shown a propensity to not understand the rules in the past. But you got me thinking that Lawlor was a good choice. I agree we should look at the players from across the pond - do Irish like being called Brits?
Scrub, I think snow is talking about the players who explicily said "I voted for X last round". We can speculate and read iinto claimed votes (otherwise each round would have us starting fresh with no knowledge gained).

There are five votes for Lawlor now, two who were in the Jayo vote. Im also switching to Lawlor making it 6 so even if the boss and the rat are on the vote, it should still be a clear enough majority to clear.
Although the Jayo vote seems quite decisive(cant really offer a counter theory to convince myself otherwise) that the boss and rat are in that pool, the boss has hit jackpot if he/she isnt in that pool.
Im not sure about the North American thing persay. Id actually associate the fact that the boss is a North American but thats only cause youll never get to see a meatloaf in a store in India and in the US Ive seen quite a bit of it. So its not really enough to make a solid statement about them being a North American cause you probably get it in stores in other parts of the world.
EDIT: Confirmed vote.

Other possibilities besides the boss and rat were not in the Jayo vote:
One player changed from Jayo to HABS without telling us AND Jayo and Scrub are employees.
Both Randy and Gizzer were mandatory fires for not voting.
KV - if the rat is the candidate, the votes are cast as normal and employees are fired from the list. This can clear a rat from being the boss, but they continue to play. For instance, it is possible that HABS is the rat - but she is not the Boss. She is not the Boss because people stating a vote for her were fired.

Considering they are from "the other Ireland", as in NOT part of the UK, my guess would be NO!
HABS2933 - Posts are confusing
My posts are not confusing at all. I voted for SKY I am humming and hahing about voting Lawlor because I don't want to be up for a pink slip if we are wrong (cleared players should avoid majorities if possible) BUT if I don't vote Lawlor and we are right - I don't get to win and I play to win!
HIGHLY UNLIKELY since they both commented on ensuring your vote logged and both edited posts to confirm they had indeed voted.
Maybe the dog only brings the ball back because he thinks you like throwing it.
