Who's The Boss
Game #3169: Expanded Killer?
This private game is moderated by ultimatecub. Please read the rules and contact the moderator with any questions or concerns about this game.
This game finished in 6 rounds.
After all the suspense the contract killer created it was a bit of an anticlimax that only 3 people died.
Plot Twist: The village guard found a scrawled message on the floor. It said:
My protector, I did a mass killing today so you will have to cover me. You know it's just like a few years ago when you were on the green and we're about to get hit. I covered you so now you'll have to cover me by getting rid of the traces on the surgical wipes.

only 3? that's a lot. and they are the ones who didn't state a vote last round so most likely mandatory.
let's try to have a definite majority this time? i'm not getting anything from the boss though.

You cannot be fired if you vote for the boss.

Maybe the dog only brings the ball back because he thinks you like throwing it.

What does the plot twist mean, exactly? Is it a clue pointing to the rat? All I can think of is the grassy knoll (which might make 1961 relevant?) but I'm not sure about that at all.
I think we should definitely get a majority (preferably a solid one, too) on someone so I'll continue the trend and go with Braingle.
Why didn't the Libertarian cross the road?

Oh, I just realized that you're calling the boss a contract killer, Cub, but who are they on contract for? Aren't they working for themselves? I'll guess that the story for this round probably isn't a clue unless further explained.

and feel free to clear me. my vote is on who for no reason at all except to not vote myself as majority.

Weird didn't get any notification for the round start Sorry for the late show.
I don't think the braingle vote makes any sense. The memo and answer are a bit too proper, like they're hiding something. Voting for snow right now..

I know what the grassy knoll refers to, but that happened in 1963 not 61.
Joining braingle vote.

Oh, you're right. I did make a mistake but not because of 1963. I was referring to this part in the first post:
If this was a clue and referred to the Kennedy assassination and the Grassy Knoll then 1965 might be significant as it was a few years after. I'm still not seeing a connection, though.

I'll vote for Roger, because I don't wanna be a lemming. Also, I have some (kind of unfounded, but have very slight basis in fact) that he is the boss.

"The green area" could also refer to a golf green. Was there a well publicized incident of someone getting hit (or nearly hit) by a wayward ball?
Is anyone in tge game remotely associated with the game?
I just don't see the leap from green to grassy knoll.
Maybe the dog only brings the ball back because he thinks you like throwing it.

I think cub means "...and were about to get hit" not "... and we're about to get hit".
Those darn apostrophes. I mean, it could be the second one, but then his verb tense is off.
Yeah, if someone is on the green and about to get hit, that sounds like a golf game.

Even if it says you were on the green and were about to get hit, golf would still fit.
I am not saying it is one way of the other, but simply asking how green translated to grassy knoll.
And, who on the grassy knoll was hit?
Maybe the dog only brings the ball back because he thinks you like throwing it.

So maybe a golf injury of some sort I'll give it a search

It seems a bit like beating a dead horse (and strange, in my opinion) to focus on my bad guess of grassy knoll. That's where my mind went so I threw it out there. Near golf accidents do make sense but would that even make the news if it was a near accident? I can't find anything that happened a few years back, at least.
One idea is a connection to "fore" as that is yelled when a golf ball is heading towards someone, but I can't think of a connection to that either.
Why didn't the Libertarian cross the road?

Well, hoo is almost definetly the rat based on the clues, but the only way i can work the green & hit is maybe four (fore), making it HarryPutter (fourth alphabetically)
IT's a stupid (And probably wrong) theory, but I'm just throwing it out there

I wasn't "focusing" on it, I was questioning how you made that connection as I didn't see it.
I doubted that a 12 year old from England would be likely to use an event that likely happened before his parents were born and half a world away as a clue in a game.
Not if it was a Joe Schmo nobody playing on his local public course.
If however, something happened at a msjor pro tournament, then yes it would have been televised. Not to mention dicussed ad nausem on sports rexap shows.
I have not looked into any golf accidents but, like the grassy knoll idea, it was just a suggestion.
