I didn't know what foppish was either, but I decided to let myself look it up -- dictionary.com, not thesaurus.com, so I didn't feel like I was cheating.
I almost gave up on #5... but I had half of it, the kid part, and I knew I had to just keep thinking about it.... and I thought, and thought... "indicates an alternative" -- choice? selection? hmm... alternative... this OR-- aha aha aha.
