The following riddle was originally printed in 1867 in "London Society".

On six feet, I am a noxious drink,
Of whose effects you shudder to think.
Change only my second foot, and then
You convert me into a horrible den
Where the culprit, who gave the noxious drink,
Awaits the fate of which you shudder to think.

Hint

Try reading it with "letters" instead of "feet".

tick Apr 02, 2008	Hmmm. I had to ask for the answer, I do not get the prsion part but maybe I am overthinking this one. Pretty tough but I njoyed it and the answer.

auntiesis Sep 01, 2009	I was doing O.K. with understanding the 2nd foot, but for some reason my eyes were playing tricks on me, and I was reading drunk instead of drink. Totally confused me and was unsolveable until I gave up and looked at the answer. Then when I reread it I realized my mistake.
