Nuria was making a school project about the early days of four well-known Catalan opera singers. Unfortunately, she messed up her notes and has only some scraps of information left. Can you help her determine the name and surname of each of the singers, when they sung professionally for the first time and which opera was it?
A note for opera lovers: the names and surnames do not correspond to the real ones (this is explained in the answer).
A note for non-opera lovers: the hint reveals who composed each opera.
Names: Montserrat, Victoria (women) Josep, Jaume (men)
Surnames: Carreras, dels Angels, Aragall, Caballe
Professional Debut: 1945, 1957, 1961, 1970

1. The four singers are: Montserrat, the one who made his/her debut in 1961, the one who played a minor role in Norma and the one surnamed Caballe.
2. Neither Jaume nor Victoria made their debut in 1970, nor did she sing in La Boheme.
3. The four operas are: Le Nozze, the one staged in 1957, the one with dels Angels and I Pagliacci.

Nice job and yes, I do like opera music, in fact all kinds of music. More please.
Enjoyable. Thank you.
Fascinating teaser. Not an opera buff myself. Thanks for the education!
Interesting that you used real names yet scrambled the firsts and lasts.
I love logic puzzles and thoroughly enjoyed this one.

Very boring and not being a fan of opera, it was difficult to keep things straight.
Thank you all for taking the time to leave a comment! I'm a great fan of opera and logic grids (this is my first), so... they had to go together!
I had to do this one twice too! ;)
But I give you a hint: you better start with writing the answers, then figure out the possible hints, each one corresponding to the answers you wrote down... so you are sure that everything fits and that you don't get any contradictions.

I enjoyed the teaser... but I wish that I would have been able to solve it as a non-opera fan without having to do the hint... it was basically a required extra clue disguised as a hint.
Actually, yes... I did it before the Trivia section appeared, and I wanted to throw in some trivia about opera along with the teaser. But I'll go and do an opera test now!
Nice teaser, it took me a few times to get it because i kept messing up my grid, but i finally got it.
it took me a while to realize that the last clue was the clue i needed to solve the teaser.

It was a challenge, but enjoyable. I don't understand why you mixed up the names, was it because you would have needed permission to use them in their real format?
