Oh my gosh that was cute! I was thinking to complex, when in fact, the answer is spelled out for you!
that one was good i was thinking that you would take deadly situation and put a small spase and a single mark.
good teaser!
Ouch, my brain hurts from all that thinking...
I knew what you were going to do, but I couldn't figure out the word to do it with. good teaser.

pretty good.. I kinda liked it.
That was kinda cute. I was thinking it'd be an exclamation mark though. Oh well at least I was close!
Excellent teaser Gerd! I didn't get it.... but brain's still a little fuzzy this am!!
Thank you very much, Choptlivva!
Wow...very good. Never would have thought of that.
How interesting. Very clever as well.
That was a good one.
Another version that works in reverse; What word for someone who helps can turn into someone who hurts by just adding a space?
therapist ----> the rapist
therapist ----> the rapist
Clever teaser - It's interesting how such a big change can be made by how the sentence, phrase or word is punctuated!
Thanks for a good one!

Wow ! That was a good one. I love Kurt's work, but I still didn't get the answer. I figured out what to do , but not the right word to use.
That was a good teaser. My head started to hurt so I just went straight to the answer.
All well. Nice teaser!

Good one!
I could have stayed up all night thinking and never come up with that answer. Good one and interesting.
Great teaser. Lots of fun. Great language twist.
"manslaughter / man's laughter" was also a key clue in one of the old "Gentleman Jim" pulp fiction murder mysteries of the 40's. Jay and I read them (from Dad's library) when we were kids.
Hey, Habsie ....
For one "not reading" ... and "ignoring" ... you are certainly going to a lot of pains to ....
get the flag WRONG and checking out time zones & IPs.
Never heard of "dual citizenships"?
... never heard of several folks using the same computer?
Conspiracy Theory??
More on the AuAg stuff from the prior two TOTDs. Take a look at them (last two days) to get up-to-date.
Seems that Denver International Airport has secret "concentration camps" underneath to house "undesirables" (hey, maybe the Bunny Clan?) and the Australian AuAg virus will be used to eradicate them.
Juicy stuff.
Anyway ... if you really fear this you can always book through Phuket International in Thailand. If you do, check out our desk there at the "hotels" counter (next to Andara Villas) - we are part owners.
There will be a laptop there with our USA-CST IP computer link.
Oh, Habsie. And you went to so much trouble!!
HILARIOUS .... RIOTOUS ...

Forgot .... (late at night, here ... YAWNNNN)
The reason I mentioned the laptop at Phuket is that it's high-speed and hooked up through the airport satellite dish - direct to USA-CDT.
FREE phone & e-mails.
(well, at least as far as it goes. Be sure you bring a double-ended USB 2.0 cable. We have eight USBs in parallel tandem on it and sometimes ALL are busy. But wait-times are also short !!)
Otherwise it's sometimes difficult to get through all the clutter there with Wi-Fi.

I'm the outlier here, apparently. I was not too excited by this teaser. It is a clever little language quirk and nice bit of trivia, but fell short for me as a teaser.
Nice teaser, but Kurt who?
I was thinking of the Oxford comma. I was remembering the old joke "Without the comma, 'Let's eat, Grandma' becomes 'Let's eat Grandma.'" I'm pretty sure I've got that on a T-shirt
Not sure how the book ties in to this, unless this is a line in it somewhere.
This teaser was interesting, if a bit confusing.
