The young are they that have this but some would sell it to the old.
The old would gladly buy it if indeed it could be sold.
Many old they want and chase it; chase it with a passion.
Some claim they can sell it in pill, potion or fashion.
Some claim it's just a state of mind so just believe you see.
Others try to hold on to it for young they want to be.
So what am I referring to, tell me if you know?
What the young have and old do not though some put on a show.

Answer

It's YOUTH my friend; it's youth they have. It is quite plain to see.
It can't be bought or sold its given to the young just for free.
Some kids would gladly trade it to be older in a day.
Some elderly would gladly buy it to get rid of the old and gray.
Some hang on and live life like it will never go away.
But sure as I'm writing this we get older every day.
You're as young as you feel I have heard it said.
But is that still the case when youth is gone and a long time you've been dead?
