What's For Lunch?
Logic-Grid
Logic Grid puzzles come with a handy interactive grid that will help you solve the puzzle based on the given clues.Logic-Grid
One week last summer, Richard's 5 kids went to camp. On each weekday, Richard had lunch with a different one of his children in the camp cafeteria. Except for the twins, who are both in the same grade, each of the children will begin a different grade in the fall. Each day of the week, a different main dish and different dessert was served. Can you figure out who Richard ate with on what day and what he had for lunch?
1) Richard and his only sixth-grade child (who isn't Basil) enjoyed the BBQ beef on Wednesday. The day Richard ate lunch with Basil wasn't the day chili was served.
2) Monday's dessert was brownies. Friday's was apple pie.
3) Lasagna was served on the day Richard joined his daughter Lily for lunch.
4) Thursday wasn't the day on which Richard and one of the twins had fried chicken followed by chocolate pudding.
5) Richard ate lunch with Darlene more than one day before he ate lunch with Amber (who is about to begin second grade, but isn't a twin).
6) Foster (who isn't the one with whom Richard had peach cobbler for dessert) is entering a higher grade than the child whom Richard ate pizza but a lower grade than at least one other child.
7) Richard didn't eat lasagna with either of the twins, nor did he eat lunch with the twins on consecutive days.

Liked it a lot. Had trouble coming up with a couple answers and had to guess--but enjoyed working it. I was right with my guesses, though.
This was a good brain workout, had to go over it a few times. Great job
I enjoyed the logic. I'll be sharing it with a grandchild in a few hours. Super Job!
Once I realized the twins were both in 4th grade (I REALLY should pay more attention to how the grid is set up...it was SO obvious), the teaser was pretty easy. It all just came together. I liked it a lot!!!

Too much.
Good Job! Just when I thought I was getting pretty good at these and they all seemed pretty easy, you came up with one that made me work to get the answers. Way to go!!!!
I had to think. Great one!
Thanks a lot!! I really enjoyed working out the answers.
FINALLY!!! Took me long enough...
Add another person who doesn't read the story through! I just start the grid and then I mess up! I lloked at Amber about to be in the 2nd grade and thought, she must be the first grader. So I took a pretty easy grid and made it much, much harder. I got it right after I figured my grid didn't make sense.
FREAKIN HARD! I'm STILL trying to figure it out! I'm not going to give up, tho
OMG! FINALLY!
Good one!
Good one!
Good one! I started to think I couldn't do it, so I walked away for awhile When I came back, I solved it no problem. Guess I overthought it at first. Keep em coming
I've started over three times and still can't figure out who ate ice cream or cobbler... Lily or Darlene?
But it's a great teaser anyway!
But it's a great teaser anyway!
Wow! That's hard!
Great teaser! I was stuck for a bit, but then I came back to clue #5 and that helped me sort out the last 2 spots I had open. Made me think, but not so hard that I gave up.
Thank you!!! Fun, and not too easy
It was challenging.
