The word 'spring'.As the flowering season: the buds bloom and die out/fall to the ground, and usually metaphorically means a start of something.
As the elastic body/device: theoretically it could stay in motion forever, and is used in pilot seats to eject them to safety in emergency situation.
As the water source: rose to surface through capillary effects, thirst-quenching for people in the desert.

Ejection seats don't use springs... once again I'm amazed at how wrong people can be and have everyone say "oh good one" without thinking.

I thought it was a very good teaser. I believe that the first ejection seats did use springs, but regardless, the teaser was excellent and very well written.
