Five people were taking a vacation in Shriekville. Unfortunately, all their vacations were cut short by a terrifying encounter with a resident ghost.
Can you determine the type of accommodation, its name, and the name of the resident ghost?
Archibald stayed at St George's: he was not frightened off by Macabre Malcolm.
The pub was the home of Chilling Charlie, who frequently turned down the thermostat and then let out gruesome shrieks, chilling everyone to the bone.
Lucas or Archibald's vacation was at the castle: was Terrifying Tony the resident ghost there?
Charlie went to stay with friends. This was in a bungalow, but it did not have the name Briar Hill. He was not terrified by Bloodcurdling Brian, the ghost that left bloodstained footprints behind.
Billy vacationed at a place named Rosedale, which was not a hotel.
Creepy Craig really did scare Gary by scraping his fingernails on the bedroom window as he was settling down to sleep. This was not at a hotel and it wasn't a place named Avalon.
The bed and breakfast accommodation was not High Lodge, which was also not the castle where Macabre Malcolm was resident.

Excellent puzzle. I did not get it right during my first go around. The openong sentence is the key...
"vacation cut short". Thanks.
"vacation cut short". Thanks.
Enjoyed it! Thanks!
that was easy, but fun and entertaining! great teaser.
I found it very easy and a little bit annoying too. Maybe some of the clues were meant to mislead but they didn't...they just frustrated.
Nice puzzle but I could not find anything in the clues to determine if Charlie or Lucas stayed at Avalon or High Lodge. What did I miss?
Nevermind! I redid the teaser and found the missing link! DUH! Nice teaser!
Fun. Good way to get the brain started in the morning!

I've tried this three times and still can't be certain whether Charlie or Lucas matches Avalon or High Lodge. Am I just supposed to reason that a castle wouldn't be called High Lodge? What am I missing?
it took two tries but i got it fun teaser
I totally messed it up the first try. Tried again and made it...yea! Thanks, a lot of fun.
Short and sweet. Shame you used the name 'Charlie' twice though. Also, what kind of sad ghost haunts a bed & breakfast?
Solved it, with a bit more patience! Very nice names, all of them!
