Liked it but shouldn't the word for the third one be flightless birdS?
No, b/c the s was provided already; otherwise you would have conssumes.
I wanted to say I loved this teaser--perfect for someone with my 'handle'!!

I looked again and stand (sit!) corrected!!! The 's' did NOT follow con, so we DID need emuS! First poster was right to begin with! Apologies! My mind supplied the whole word since it answered the clue enough for me!
Just to confirm, it should be flightless birdS (plural). A correction was submitted awhile ago, but hasn't been processed yet.
Good one! Couldn't think of emus, though Thanks for another great teaser!
good teaser, keeping coming.
Very good teaser. Took me forever. Thanks for posting.
Got them all, but needed help on #2 as I did not know the name for young lice. Otherwise did well. Good teaser and I did not even notice the S missing on #3 and put it down plural anyhow.
3 outta 4, not too shabby in my book. Happy Friday everyone!
Another great puzzle Marc.
