Third Post. Will the wolves please hold up one paw?
I wish that life were that easy, but then again, it wouldn't be a very fun game I suppose.

Hi guys. h
I don't really have anything to contribute, but I'm bored and waiting for my next class to start, so I thought I'd check on the status of the game.
Turns out, we've filled up. Yay!
I'll be back after class.

Yay!!! The round has started!!! Good group of players too! Now let's get a wolf!

Indeed you must go get those nasty wolves. I promised you a clearing clue - and you shall now receive it.
However, be very careful. You don't want to proudly announce you figured it out and then lead to the early demise of a fellow human, now do you? These clues may in the end do more harm than good.
Fascinating news blurb there. Is the clue hidden inside? Or are there links of the chain missing. Up to you to decide.

More than 1,500 audiocassette tapes taken in 2001 from Osama bin Laden's former residential compound in Qandahar, Afghanistan, are yielding new insights into the radical Islamic militant leader's intellectual development in the years leading up to the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

What am I going to make out of hat clue?!!?

UC Davis did a study about this. I don't have time to read it, and I don't know how to put a link up- so here goes:

Okay I guess it kind of worked..

...and that matters how DS? Crazy clue.
I'll be back. We gotta get a lead out of this somehow!

Checking in again. Maybe the numbers in the URL mean something? Or maybe the location of the study matters.
Edit: Wellllll, the only thing I see right now is that Juliana has a 97 in her username, along with the URL, but that's a lame connection. I see nothing that has to do with UC Davis in anyone's info.

Honestly, I don't think Duchess's clues would be as easy as googling the information and then taking it at face value.
I've never figured out any of her clues to date, even ones that I knew were about me.
And assuming that UC Davis is the clue, how would anyone go from UC Davis to a study about Osama bin Laden?
Surely when googling UC Davis, you don't get a link to the study she referenced...?
And... that's all I've got to say about that at the moment.

Meh I just googled that blurb and that's the first thing that I got- too tired to look at anything else

I just realized that I can't get on in time tommorrow, and I doubt that I'll be able to choose a vote tonight, so I'll probably not vote this round.

Hey folks, I've got class in the morning and I'm going to bed now, so I'm not going to be able to get on for the rest of the round. Therefore I'm placing a vote for an inactive to protect the seer.
Goodnight!

I live in New Zealand and am on school holidays now! Ha! None of this school business for me for ages!
Anyway...
Since I haven't got the slightest clue about the clue, and I don't know anyone, I don't think that I will vote this round.

Ugh. I have a (lame) idea for the clue, but I don't want to say anything and risk someone getting eaten. I'm probably wrong anyway, so I'll just say that, taking this "9/11" and this "are there links of the chain missing", I'm not voting for someone. I'm very helpful, aren't I?
Ok, I'm going to go the "thus far Inactive" route as well. Be right back to announce my vote.
Edit to add: Ok, I'm going to vote Izzy (for now, at least). Yes, it makes a majority, but I'd always rather lose someone who's not here than someone who is.

I'm considering not voting, but we do need to protect the seer, so I don't know... I'll think about it.

Clue Solved
I believe the clue points to gargph.
I was skimming through the document to see if there are any important dates that link up, and December 7th is gargph's birthday. Also, if gargph were a wolf, Duchess would have to make a date clue, because the username is so odd and convoluted I doubt any other clue could link to it.
Unfortunately, I am going to have a hard time staying active this game as I was assigned a ton of work for the next week, so this sadly might be all you can get from me.
Oh well, at least we've got gargph.

The audiocassettes, along with a number of videotapes, were first acquired by a CNN producer and Afghani translator in the weeks following the Taliban's evacuation from Qandahar on Dec. 7, 2001.

Well, that solve makes waaay more sense than mine did. But remember that Dutchess' clues clear players. So... we shouldn't vote gargph.
My only concern is that Dutchess said her clues would be hard (but solvable) - putting up a clue w/ a direct reference to a birthday doesn't seem all that difficult to me. Don't mean to knock your work, BB, but maybe we need to dig a little deeper? Or maybe Dutchess will confirm your solve so we can stop going nuts over this thing.

Dutchess said she wouldn't confirm until after the round is through But yeah I think she said the clue clears the player so if the clue does point at Garaph then he is cleared. Going to vote for Izzy. Hate inactives.

No. As far as I can tell, the clue doesn't clear gargph.
The clue clears someone else. But I'm not going to say who, because if the wolves are even a little bit experienced, they would devour this player without a second thought.
That said, I'll also pick an inactive to vote for.

Voting to protect the seer. (For myself, for lack of anybody else that I have any particular suspicion of at this point.)
You make me dizzy Miss Izzy, the way you rock and roll..
