Well, I was going to apologize for not voting last round, but seeing as the outcome was not as anticipated, I suppose I'll refrain. Geez, chang. Couldn't wait 'til a later round to play a trump card like that? Makes me wonder who he was trying to protect... Toucan? Or is it another elaborate set-up?
Hey, Dutchess: since the wolves have their own TB, can we Humans have one of our own, too? *innocent smile*
Voting chang for now. I suppose there's a small chance he's Human and was hoping to spare Talan's life by making himself a more tasty target, but his method seems a bit reckless.

This may sound really stupid, but I know what Chang was thinking, and I doubt that he is a wolf. I don't see a wolf doing that, especially with a TB. I'm really don't want to vote for Chang, but in all likelyhood he is going to get shot anyways, and the seer needs protecting. Chang, sorry to cause such a hasty death, even though you are human.
This may sound wolfish, but I would like for the seer to tell us if they have seered a wolf. I really think that they won't last much longer for reasons I will keep to myself, and therefore I'd rather take the bird in the hand over the two in the bush.
ADD:
Also, if you guys start shooting me for the above statement, I'll have to explain my reasoning, something I pray the wolves haven't found out yet.

^ Yeah, BB, I agree that chang is most likely Human. The more I think about it, the more I believe he was hoping to trick the wolves. But... they'd know immediately that he was lying about Seering Juliana. So his attempt at nobility was wasted. I've never witnessed such an odd move before. Numpty bought me a few more rounds when I was Seer once by claiming to be Seer, but he went about it in a different way. I'm sure chang will come on and give us an explanation of his reasoning, and my vote may change.
You might be a wolf, BB, but I don't think your statement seems like something a wolf would say. I wouldn't go so far as to call upon our Seer to out him/herself with the ID of one wolf, though. I haven't the foggiest how you think the wolves will find the Seer, but with every round, his/her chances of survival go down anyway.

I'm afraid I'll most likely be voting for chang. Even if he was trying to save talanpoe or distract the wolves from eating the seer, you don't do it by taking down another human. Perhaps there's something I'm missing. For that reason I'm going to hold off voting for now; perhaps chang will be kind enough to explain.
Anyway, BB I don't think you're a wolf - I seems too risky of a statement for a wolf to be making.

Okay, so no surprise about talanpoe. That quick meal was one reason I warned you to be careful about ousting the human. But there is some strategy afoot, I'm sure.
I am off to Flip a Coin - that's the site I'm using to decide who the clue is going to be. I flip the number of coins equal to the number of humans (minus seer) - and if your name gets tails, you're out. I just keep flipping until one person is left.
So, I am gonna do that now, and then return with the clue in a bit.
EDIT: I have returned!

1989 was known for many events: the Exxon Valdez spill, the San Francisco earthquake, Tiananmen Square, the end of the Berlin Wall... but none of these are your clue. What you're looking for is a sporting event that took place in 1989 that was considered a major upset - and set a record, too.

Wow - what a big year 1989 was! Seinfeld and Simpsons started, Gameboy and Sega Genesis released... and I was just a kid, along for the ride.
Still going to take me awhile to maybe figure this one out. But if someone does get it, it might be a good idea not to say anything (well, you can say you solved it, if you want ). Show us who not to vote for by not voting for him/her; don't actually say anything. K?

Sorry for my realative inactivity last round. I sort of freaked out when I came back and saw lots of accusations for me, and I'm not too good at this so I hurried to switch my vote to the majority so I wouldn't look extra suspicious. I have very little idea about what's happening at the moment so I will hold my vote for now, and come back later searching for some logic that I agree with and place my vote accordingly.
I am missing something. I have just looked back at the previous rounds and searched for "talk". Where did it say that the woves had a talk box?

Well, I know that DS usually does have a TB for her wolves, and I would assume that they would have one for this game, but numpty is right. Duchess has not said anything about the wolves having a TB, at least I don't think that she has.

Dutchess didn't use the word "talk" when she verified the wolves were conversing with each other. Check the last post of last round:dswilborn wrote:

I honestly don't think that chang is a wolf and I know who the clue clears but I'm not going to make the same mistake twice. Trying to play by the rules and be a good sport obviously just makes me more suspicious or something - plus now I realize that clearing talenpoe was a huge mistake and only resulted in making a player look suspicious (but he couldn't be a wolf).I know for a fact that he isn't the seer though.

Next I'd like to start off by saying that I am sorry to jullian for getting you shot, if you're going to be mad/upset at someone, let it be at me, not ds...
Ok, now for my reasoning. While I appreciate DS's help, by providing clearing clues, in my opinion, it's a hindrance. I am fine with there not being any "wolf" clues, it's a little harder, but definitely doable. Just like any game, we have to read people's actions and reactions; but in this game set-up, DS has taken part of this out, which is crucial to the humans winning.
So far in this game, the wolves haven't really had an opportunity to eat who they wanted, to an extent, DS has almost dictated who the wolves eat. Normally I would then look at the voting list next, but with the whole "Voting someone else to protect the seer" doesn't help.
So I decided (I have done this before and the players weren't happy ) that our chain of events needed to change. Claiming to being the seer gave a sense of some knowledge. Consider it a reaction test. Even though the wolves knew I was lying, the humans didn't, depending on the normal personality of a person, this is where you can make a more accurate reading of a person alignment.
So all in all, it was a reaction test, because I felt that we we're working with very little. Hope my post helps you understand.

AHEM.
You guys are a great group of players, but I've had about enough of the complaints. You knew what you were signing up for before the game started. You knew the risks - that is, if you bothered to read the intro. If you want to announce results of the clues, the by gum, go ahead and DO IT. Trying to save a human is nice, but your goal is to find the wolves from those remaining.
I was having a really good time watching you guys figure stuff out. But now I'm annoyed. I was trying something NEW, and if it doesn't work, then I throw it out and not do it again. But by gum, it's only round three. Let's get back to the game, let's play, and let's stop whining. Or else this Duchess will be giving you nothing more for a long time.

Oh, Dutchess! I'm sorry if I was one you thought was upset - I'm not! I like your clue system. As you said a round or so ago, the original WWG doesn't have any clues. At least with clearing clues, we can find the wolves by a process of elimination.
And maybe I was thinking about the Human clues the wrong way. I mean, the wolves have to eat a Human at night - there is no option; it's gonna happen. So what if we clear a Human out-loud in the round? Yes, they'll likely be the next one to be eaten, but at least we know who not to shoot (and we'll know who we're about to lose).
So I'm changing my tune: I vote that we publicly solve & share the clues. Toucan, you said you know who this clue clears - I'd like to know who. Wolves may have solved it already, so what are we really losing? Right?
Ok, chang's half-explanation is more confusing to me than no explanation. I probably won't make it back on before the round is over, but I'll try! In the meantime, I'm gonna vote numpty. He's being very chatty, keeps nudging for clues, and is altogether too chipper.

Yeah. I was chatting with tick while I wrote that. He told me to "give them all heck from me"
You know, he misses you guys (talking to those who knew him, of course), but can't come online and play as often as he used to. He's in great health, and it's more his home responsibilities that are keeping him away. But he sends his "Hey, hi howdy" to you all.

I think the game is a good idea if people just get over the fact that the clues aren't pointed at the wolves. After all this is supposed to be a reality based game - and in reality this is exactly how we would figure out who a werewolf was in real life. By eliminating people that we know are actually wolves and figuring out who isn't by our own intellect.
As for chang, I think his explanation is pretty good, but of course his actions were pretty wolfish. Could his explanation be a last chance at trying to save hisself though now that he knows more than likely he is going to have to be eliminated because of just how wolfish his last actions were?
Either way I think I am going to vote for Chang this round. I would like to think that he is a human but his actions last round makes no sense ... even if you are just trying to figure out how the wolves are going to react I think it is very unwise to risk making others believe you are a wolf by getting an human eliminated. Especially if you are a human!!!!
Oh, and the clue refers to fantasy football I think. And from that I will let you figure out who I think is cleared.

Before you read this post, I would like to explain that a curse word may be placed between and 2 words in it, and it would be accurate to my reaction.
A reaction test? A reaction test! A reaction test?!?!?!
Ok, I've pulled the fake seer card in the past, and I've done it as human and wolf, and never have I thought of such a proposterous idea as a bleeping reaction test. Oh, you know what, guys, I'm a seehumawolf, please react to this so I can garner some rediculous false information.
I have no clue what to think now. I feel like a stupid player. I have no problem with DS's modding, and while its thrown off the game a bit, I started a disaster in which I didn't even reveal the status of the deceased, so as a humble pot, I refuse to call the kettle that is DS black.
On top of this, I have no clue who is getting cleared here. And the seer better get their act into gear right this f'ing instant because I can guarentee if I were in that talkbox I would get you in no more than 2 rounds at the moment. I suggest you just tell us what you know right now. Seriously, I doubt 4 living wolves don't know who you are right now. So tell us what you've got through 2 rounds, at least its something.
End of cry for help/rant/intristically motivated outburst.

The clue does not refer to fantasy football. I know who it clears, found the exact match, no doubt about it, but I choose not to sign a human's death warrant by revaling this information.

Sorry if my post confused you, but this is my last (I promise)...
I agree that my actions were unexpected, and may not be approved by the majority of you, but I did it so that for those of you who re-read the round, can read people and form an educate guess. Anyways.
Like most of my propositions, unless you are 100% sure that I am human, you HAVE to vote me... I say it in all my games, I am a very dangerous, risky, manipulative player (aka wolf)... I don't want to go further in the game to lose b/c I got shot, cuz someone was having second thoughts.
While I could come up with convincing argument to not vote me, based on my previous reasoning, I will be voting myself...
PS~ I believe the seer is safe for another round, IMHO, but the seer will need to come out next round (FOR SURE!!!)
@ BB, Like I said, it's risky (I not saying it wasn't), but you of all people (a person I consider the best read of people) should know what to do next.

I don't think it's a smart idea for the seer to come out just yet although I think that in the future it might be best if the seer does. My reasoning is this - we are all a little upset because of things that have occured in the past round. Although chang claimed that he was the seer we all pretty much know that he isn't the seer right now. We are only in round 3 which means that having the seer survive might be critical ...
And no, I wasn't talking about you BrainiacBrandon ... we do have a player with the word Fantasy in his name. And fantasy football really became popular in the late 1980's because of some scandal in the sports industry (I'm not sure exactly what but I have read several websites by google search that mention this scandal ... I just don't understand sports talk so I don't know what it means.
BTW Atlanta Journal-Constitution is a newspaper from GA that widely reported on sports in 1998 ... a bunch of the scandals had to do with females not being allowed on football teams in college level sports there. It led to Fantasy Football (invented in 1985) becoming famous ....
AJCFantasy123 is one of our players ... mere coincidence? Maybe I am reading too much into my research

I think that I'll just let this round run as I have nothing to contribute, except perhaps encouraging others to look very closely at these super-active-very-long-posts-players because they seem to be the only ones who have any say, and they seem to be directing where the game is heading.
Maybe I'm just blind and/or paranoid, but that is all that I have concluded from reading the posts of this round. Sorry that I am not of more assistance in this matter, but I am choosing to withhold my vote rather than casting an ill-considered one that may lead to my early demise.
That is all.
(PS Have a great day everybody!)
EDIT toucan dan got in before me and i responded to numpty in my post.

Just so everyone knows, in case you missed it, Chang realises what he has done, and would like to be shot so that he does not survive to later rounds where he feels a human being shot can be more critical. (IE a 3 or 5 player game where 1-2 rounds is all that is left.)
I am still absolutely convinced by has actions that he is not a human. Since he is 100% human in my eyes, I feel it would be ignorant of me to shoot him, regardless of what he thinks is right for his own demise. I know if I make it into those critical rounds, I won't be shooting Chang. You guys can grant his wish, I won't partake.
Since he felt it was so necessary to set up this situation for me, I'm going to try to make the most of it. I will be voting for a player who is not on my list of seer suspects and is not Chang based on reactions to Changhill's rediculous anouncement.
I am now off of dialup and on very fast wireless internet, so look for me on Pogo under the same Username!

And yet you still voted changhill?

Okay BB ... I don't understand your post. Do you think he is human or not? Are you going to vote for him or not?
And there are just three ways that a person can be 100% sure of someones identity.
1) They solved the clue. - This is what I suspect is the reason behind this.
2) They are the seer.
3) They are a werewolf. - If this is the case you just knocked 2 of the 3 wolves out in a single post.

I've got some oceanfront property in Arizona if anyone is interested.

No, I just haven't changed it off. I will though... to you.
I found 3 people suspcious as a result of Chang's meyhem, 2 of which are my top 2 seer suspects. Just Take&The Donuts! The only person remaining is you, gargph. I've been suspicious of you all game. Now, kids act different in the game, and you are under 18, but its just too much suspicion for me to ignore. While chang is getting shot, I'm making a point by pointing at you.
Sorry for the confusion TD, I feel he isn't a wolf, and am so sure no one could convince me off of that stance. I have no way of being sure, but that's what I meant. My wholehearted opinion is Chang isn't a wolf.

Just so you don't get me wrong (BB)...
I didn't realize anything... I know what I did, I stand by what I did, and I would definitely pull this "stunt" if I saw it necessary. It's a working theory, it's helped 1/3 times, I am hoping to make it 2/4 this game... if later on it doesn't work, then yea I will abandon it (but it's not a fail, till the end result )

Ok, thanks for explaining chang. While it was a bit of a "wild" move, I can see the logic behind it. I'm ot perceptive enough to gain anything from analyzing people's reactions to your Seer claim, but maybe someone else will (upon re-reading last round). I don't think you're a wolf - not 100% sure, but too sure to vote for you.

The clue does not refer to fantasy football. I know who it clears, found the exact match, no doubt about it, but I choose not to sign a human's death warrant by revaling this information.
See, this is what I've rethought about these clues. By not telling us who it clears, we might accidentally shoot the cleared person. Then we'll lose another Human at night. But if you do tell us, we won't shoot them and we'll have a better chance (by 1) of shooting a wolf. We'll still lose a Human at night, but at least we'll be prepared. I respect your decision not to share, but it doesn't mean the wolves haven't already figured it out. Then they have more info than we do .. at least, those of us who are clue-solving impaired. I'll retain my vote for numpty. Nothing personal.

Thanks Chang; that made sense. Like elios, I'm not perceptive enough to figure out reactions though so we'll see if the strategy works out
Anyway, I'm feeling chang is human, so I won't vote for him. If he turns out to be a wolf it'll be the ultimate facepalm and one of the best moves ever!
Alright, I'm placing a vote for afjcfantasy. I haven't seen much of her this game and with all of the commotion, it's probable that the wolves are laying low for now.
Chang, I would encourage you to not vote for yourself; in my opinion it doesn't really help in analyzing who the wolves are if we keep shooting likely humans; we just waste rounds that way. I mean if we shoot you, 6 humans will be gone and that means we only have two more rounds to find a wolf. Not very good odds
And DS, I don't think this game is bad at all! We all knew what we were getting into - and it's definetely easier for the humans than a normal game.
K, I'll try to check in once more, but I have a chem set that's...less than lovely.

What a mixed up, crazy round! That's good stuff right there, don't you think?
Well, yesterday, when the flip of the coin determined who the human clue would clear, I had to laugh out loud. Just laugh. And no one solved it - at least, no one shared it if they did.
In 1989, Michael Chang became the youngest man to win the French Open (tennis).
And changhill was 100% human, but NOT the seer.

Oh, by the way... the clue changhill found... was for a wolf...
That's the ONLY clue the humans are getting in this game. I highly suggest they think about it.
