Long ago there was a tiny village in China, by the shore. And in this tiny village, nothing happened for 364 days a year. For 364 days a year, all was peaceful in this tiny village and at nights all was quiet except for the sound of the waves gently lapping the shore.
But on that 365th day, on that final day of the year, at midnight on the final day of every year, no peace was to be found in the village. For at midnight on that final day, the waters churned, the seas rumbled, and the great monster Year rose up from the bottom of the sea. With a roar the terrible monster Year brought great waves of water to destroy the village and all the villagers held dear. With great waves of water, Year took everything the villagers cared about most, and took them all back down to the ocean floor. Nothing was safe from the monster: no house, no farm, no book, no toy, no cow, no chicken, no tools, no boat. Year took all, leaving only Death, Terror, and Despair in its wake. And all through the day and night of the year's end, Death, Terror, and Despair reigned in the tiny village on China's shore.

CELL PHONES:
Death: Cell phones are quite useful, aside from just talking on them. Mine has many applications, but the one I could not live without is the calendar. My memory is not the greatest these days so I use it for everything, from appointments to reminders of things to pick up at the store.
Terror: Cell phones are a great way to stay in touch with your friends. Texting can be fun with the right person. It's nice to be able to choose your favorite color and style of cell phone. I like cell phones because they are handy to take everywhere.
Despair: first cell phone typical brick indestructible strictly emergencies like cordless anywhere. Kids have new phones gadgets cameras texting apps internet music amazing wonder annoying rude unsafe in car.
One human response (round one only): One of the great inventions of the 20th century. Too bad they didn't build proper etiquette into them.

Morning everyone! You can send some of your snow this way if you wish to get rid of it. Apparently we used up our snow quota for the decade last year.
As for the game, well, we all love first rounds. I'll wait for the clues.

Hello all. Glad to see the game has started.

Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, we are still waiting for one more player to submit a psych answer. Annoying, I know, but I'm sticking to my guns on this one: all players--humans, seer and wolves, must submit the round 1 psych answer. The reason? Well, in past games I've seen the last couple players to sign up get stung because of a laggard wolf not getting answers in. My hope is that this will protect those folks. But, it's an experiment, so let's see.
EDIT TO ADD clarification: at the 12-hour mark, I will publish regardless, and if I have a prompt missing, will offer a hint to that person's identity. I'm hoping that won't be necessary, though. I know that I hate being outed as wolf, seer OR human, and I'm assuming that folks feel the same.

Good morning everyone! I'm also glad to see the game has started and am waiting for the prompts.
As for our weather, the sun is trying to shine, but it is way too cloudy to let it through. We've been having rain now for several weeks with more forecast for the next few weeks. We actually thought we might have to pick up some sandbags because our patio was flooded all the way up to the patio door base. Talk about wet!
SMILE and people will wonder what you are up to!

Sorry to hear about your flooding problems, but frogs do like water, so maybe it will work out. But really, water problems can be disastrous. Hope it settles down for you. We've got the sun, but it's only in the 20's now. The sun makes a bit difference though, and am thankful for it.
Smeraldina, what if this one player never submits the prompt? What will you do then?

EDIT TO ADD: over the course of the day and night, each human will be struck by an eerie feeling that a particular player is NOT Death, Terror, or Despair. Two villagers have been struck by a sixth sense so far. If you are struck with that sixth sense or gut instinct, you may not reveal it to any of the other players in the game. You can try to protect that player however you like (within the rules), but you may not reveal that you've gotten a sixth sense about the player. See my post at the top of round 0 for more info.
This idea was piloted by jpaw in the last Reunion game, and we are trying it again. :-)

Wow, I can't believe the game started today of all days now that I've turned in grades. Having had only 2 hours of sleep, I may not spend too much time here today, lol

I only had 2 hours of sleep myself. Went to bed at 12:30 last night and woke up at 2:30 and that was all she rolled... got worrying about the job I am doing with a tight time table. I have evenings, but my days this week are pretty much wrapped up.
Glad this started.

And so we start, I feel a bit behind not having done this in awhile but will try to get my thoughts on the prompts together later. Certainly should be an interesting way to play the game.

Death: Someone who is old or working coz this person need it for appointments and reminders. Might be a male coz males mostly forget important dates?? lol
Terror: Someone young, maybe?? reason being able to choose his or her own cell phone. Although I'm lost at "stay in touch with friends". Might means that the person just moved places, older and working, or had friends that just moves??
Despair: Very smart coz I got no idea... put lots of words together in a line... Although, should be a driver and have kids??
Human: sound like mocha to me... I think is a female...
btw, good story
remind me of a folklore...

Death could be trying to trick us however the mention of needing a calendar and picking up things at the store leads me to think we're dealing with a working adult.
Terror I think is more likely to be a young adult because of texting however I also know several people well past their teens who also text frequently so maybe a set up?
Despair has answered in such a way as not to be personal, I wish I knew if the first cellphone belonged to this wolf or if it's just being referenced.

I will put my ideas on the cell phones in the file cabinet for now. Not willing to really say anyone of those belong to anybody in particular yet.
I sort of laugh Tan at your response for Death. When I was young (around 25) I kept a schedule of appointments because I was SO busy that it was hard to keep track of them. I now have a better memory of what I have to do and use my memory for schedules, though I will admit I have PAPER calendar next to my computer that I use to have a hard copy of the schedules - mostly for tax reasons - keeping track of my mileage. It also helps my wife know where I am during the day in case she hears of a problem or something, she knows if I am clear. Death could be young or old, depending on how busy they are or forgetful. How many times did your parents tell you to clean your room and you forgot. Oh wait Tan, you're young and have a great memory! There is more to the answer than just being forgetful!
I have a cell phone only because I have a business. It is basic in nature. Anyone here from the Spy games knows I hate text messaging. I write things out and never learned to text message (not talking about learning how to do it, that seems fairly easy, but never learned to incorporate it into my life style - I could care less about text messaging - call me)... so this answer does seem to be someone more in the younger generation.
Despair seems to be someone who has at least figured out that driving and talking is dangerous!
The human answer doesn't necessarily sound like a female or a male, but someone who thinks people who use cell phones should learn how to use it correctly, politely and be considerate of others.

anyway, my respond is just my idea. It don't mean anything unless anyone says anything about it...
I don't think I make any sense...

Death does sound like an adult because of the reference to using their phone for the calendar and appointments because of their memory not being so good now. Although this could also be a bit of a stretch if this wolf is in school and has a very busy schedule - including finals and running errands for the parents. Still, more than likely an adult.
Terror does sound like a younger person because of the reference to texting. As far as choosing a phone, I would think that is probably how most of us have gotten our phones.
Despair didn't really say anything except listed what a cell phone can do. Didn't really say anything personal about their likes or dislikes about a cell.
From these prompts, I am not really getting any vibes from anyone, but it is still early and we still have plenty of time to vote. I'm going to wait and see what everyone else has to say before I decide where my vote should go.
SMILE and people will wonder what you are up to!

Death: I feel this could just as easily be a younger person trying to sound older than an actual older adult. This may be reading too much into a perfectly innocuous wording (sorry, in the middle of English homework ), but "these days" could refer to his or her life in general, and not now as opposed to the past. I agree that it is more likely to be an adult, but it's not uncommon for wolves to try to disguise their age, so clever wording itself definitely shouldn't rule anybody out.
Terror: I do not think this person is necessarily young and could be an older person trying to sound younger. I'm currently 17 and do not text (I do have a cell phone, so that isn't the reason), and I know many older people, including teachers, who do text. Actually, rereading yet again, this wolf doesn't even specifically say that he or she does text, and most if not all people would probably agree that texting with the right friend can be fun.
Despair: As has been said, there really doesn't seem to be anything particularly substantial here... I think this wolf is using "rude" and "annoying" in reference to having a phone in the car (it could also be a general reference, though...), which, if true, would make inclined to believe this wolf is an adult, since adults would seem more likely to prefer not using phones while driving, but that could also be a misleading implication.
Human: Not to nitpick or anything, but the rules technically stipulated three complete sentences; is it possible a third sentence got cut off? I have to agree with Tan that it does seem to sound like Mocha, but it doesn't seem personable enough to draw any definite conclusions.
Edit: I tried to do a little searching, but nothing seems too fruitful:
texting- has it gone too far? Froggy says that texting is blocked on her phone (this was nearly a year ago; that may have changed, to be fair) and discusses dangers of texting and driver. Mocha (high school teacher) expresses annoyance with students who text in class and refuse to comply with request to turn off phone and also seems frustrated with people with text at the dinner table.
Soccerguy's Greedy vs. Generous TWG The purple wolf (who turned out to be shaidar) says that he doesn't have a cell phone. Important to note that this was in November 2008...

The only prompt that stood out to me was from death. To me, death sounds like Randy. IDK, I could be way off, but his line of work requires "appointments" and of course he has to pick up supplies from the store for his jobs. And, he has to be organized, because I'm sure he has more than one job going on at a time. Can't buy copper wiring for house #1, when they need a new fuse box. . . . . and it's house #2 that needs the copper wiring. lol I'm not trying to sway votes towards Randy, but his job is one that needs organization. Other than Randy, Josh could be "death" - teachers need to be organized, and keep "appointments". There's always teachers meetings, confrences, etc. Other than "death" I'm not seeing anything else.
On a side note, my computer is acting odd. If I don't log on as much as usual, or I forget to vote, it's because of this. Husband installed an antivitus thingy and it's screwing up the internet. Half the time, I can't even get logged on here. And when I do, strange things happen, like I can't see my pieces in the chess and checker games I'm in. lol Not really funny, but it makes it mighty hard to play!
I'll hold up on my voting. Plenty of time to do that.
Take all sorrow out of life and you take away all richness, and depth, and tenderness. The capacity of sorrow belongs to our grandeur. It is the furnace that melts hearts together in love.

I'm not getting any real vibes from any of the psychs. I usually overanalyze them and would hate to do that here.
Anyway, I'll check back in tomorrow! Midterms are done so yeah!

Say what Snowy??? You obviously have not been in too many service vehicles. I drive a hardware store on wheels. Bascially only fixtures and specialty items are bought for specific customers. And would I do this on a phone? That would first require texting which I don't do, and it would also require a whole lot of work. I love my computer... use excel. So simple, I always lay out my jobs on excel and with the program I wrote, I can get a list of what I need. From that list, I look at what I normally carry and then make a list and email it, by computer to my wholesale house. They call when the order is complete and I pick it up. It sits in my van, unless it is a really big order in which case I put it in my garage, until I use it.
Don't you have to remember to go to the grocery store or a doctor's appointment? Sorry, but appointments and schedules really do apply to everyone.
I just love this - lots of discussion and some finger pointing... but this is only one question. How often have we found that by round 3 the wolves get in touch with the group and sway their answers to the players. I guess that is why I get shot or eaten in round one or two - I am vocal and don't mind saying if answers look like me or obviously can not be me.
I do own a cell phone - but I have NEVER texted. I have received two text messages in 5 years and I immediately CALL the person who texted and ask them what they want. I truly feel that is the proper way to use a phone. I have been standing talking to someone who receives a text message and he stops our conversation to text a message back, taking him a couple minutes to do it. How rude. You can remove the text function from my cell phone and I will never miss it. I will "text" from my computer through an email. Take it from there.

You can remove the text function from my cell phone and I will never miss it. I will "text" from my computer through an email. Take it from there.

Hahaha, I love the human response. Anywho... some random thoughts.
Death I agree could be someone trying to sound older but really "these days" just refers to a busy spot in life... I know we all go through those.
Terror I picked up on the word "handy". Mostly because I found it "pun"ish because in German the word for cell phone is "handy", but then it made me think I have not heard many teens in my classes anyway use the word "handy" to describe anything.
Despair used the word kids... again, my brain goes to school and remembers that teachers have kids also... could also refer to anyone who babysits, or has younger relatives.

For what it's worth, the wolves have received their next five prompts, and are expected to submit all their answers before the beginning of Day 2. So if there's any tailoring to the crowd, we're not going to see it until after Day 6.

How often have we found that by round 3 the wolves get in touch with the group and sway their answers to the players.

Well Randy, I did say I wasn't trying to sway any votes your way. It was late when I wrote that, and that is what came to mind. I imagine you do have a lot of supplies in your vehicle, but you do deal with customers, more than one at a time. So, organization is the key to you having a successful outcome to your jobs. I do imagine that you have the basics - not specialty items and/or fixtures on hand. Why put out the money up front, when you know they "may" change their mind on an item. But then, most homeowners pick out their own fixtures. . . . .right?
As for your complaining about texting, that sounds like despair. Gee, could you be 2 wolves?! Just kidding of course.
I do agree that the appointments and schedules could sound like anyone and everyone. I personally, write my appointments down on a calendar that's hanging on the inside of a cupboard, in the kitchen. I do this, because the phone (not cell) is in the kitchen. . . and if I don't jot it down right away, I may never get it down, then there goes the app. As for keeping my schedule in tact? What schedule. I'm a stay at home mom. Whatever I have planned is on that calendar in the kitchen. lol I do get e-mail reminders, from the dentists, and that's cool. But never get any on my cell phone. I had a Principle once complain that she couldn't reach me, and I asked . . . . did you call my house??? She said, no, I've been calling your cell number. Good grief, I'm home more than out and about - why would anyone only try the cell, when needing to reach someone for something important. And it was important. That made absolutely no sense to me.
Ok, I'm rambling. Got to bed way too late, and now I'm trying to get son off to school. We're under another Winter Snow Warning, so . . . . .
Computer is still acting odd - took a good 5 minutes just to get the internet to boot.
TanCW, I will admit, you kinda sound like you're defending Randy . . . .. then sounding confused?! Makes me wonder about you.

When I first read the responses, my first reaction to Death's answer was Randy. It just sounds like him to me. However, after reading everyone's ideas I'm not so sure. I've had a cell phone for about a year. it's not one of those fancy ones that do everything, in fact it's a no contract, buy your minutes in advance and as long as you keep adding minutes to it you have service. I rarely use it except when I am out of town or traveling, and then I consider it a necessity.
Since I really don't know some of you I'm going to have to rely on others input before I form any ideas as to who to vote for. For now, no one is particularly suspicious, consequently everyone is suspect.

CW sounds good. In all seriousness, I'm not really suspecting anyone. Just posting what I am thinking at the time. This is the first round, and there's no way we can take these posts or "thoughts" seriously. I may go back and say, ha - I suspected you in Round 1. . . .and now I see another red flag from you - but then, that may never happen. So for now, just takes my posts as me sharing my thoughts, or "thinking".

I finally had a chance to read all the posts.
I have to agree the whole appointments and schedules could apply to anyone. Students and teachers have schedules to track, almost everyone has doctor/dentist appointments to track.
Snow, just because you are a stay at home mom doesn't mean you don't have a schedule to track. I have a few friends who are stay at home moms and they not only track their schedule but their kids and husbands schedules.
My first thought to the human response was Dina, but then she is our lovely mod and it can't be her. The next I though of was Josh.
Death: My initial reaction was someone a little older. I don't know about everywhere else, but I know around here it is very hard to find a phone without all the gadgets and applications on them. Whether you use them or not is a different story. My husband works for a forensics hospital/corrections facility and they are not allowed to take cameras in the building. Good luck finding a cell phone around here without a camera built in.
Terror: Sounds like someone older trying to appear younger. Someone mentioned that they don't actually state they text, just that it could be fun. This could be anyone. Personally, I don't like to text either. It takes me forever to type a message on my phone with the keys being so tiny. Like Randy, I also call the person who has texted me, which is usually only my husband as everyone knows I don't like like to text.
Despair: I had to read this several times before I figured out what they were trying to say. I'm still not 100% sure of everything they are saying. I have to agree cell phones and drivers don't mix well. Its one thing to talk on the phone while driving, but around here I see more people texting while driving. I wish it were easy to write tickets to just anyone. Boy would I make a lot of money for the police department.

Hmm I have read over all the other posts and I agree that it will be very hard to pinpoint anyone based on the responses. The first does sound older, but I know that many people in college and even high school have a lot of things to keep track of. The second one sounds to me to definitely be a younger person, at least in my experience the older people I know text very little. The last one seems like something a very tricky person would write, of course I have been away so long I remember very little about everyone . I will have to think on it some more, but I think I have somewhat an idea for possible wolves.
Checking in again. I don't really know who to vote for because it's round 1 and everyone's active. People have feelings Randy could be a wolf (that's RGW4, right??) but I don't like relying on the psychs all that much. I do agree that CW seemed to defend Randy, but it's a little too early to know what that means.

As for the responses:
Death: This is not me, first of all my memory is excellent , second of all, I don't use my phone for a calendar or appointments, I actually just bought a notebook for that. I wonder if this is meant to look like an older person or is an older person. I think the word applications is involved in that discussion.
Terror: I could be this one but I'm not. Now I don't really think it's nice to be able to choose your color etc., but the wolf doesn't say it's nice for them either. Same goes for the texting language. Terror says it can be fun, not that it is. I myself do text.
Despair: I think this is a younger person trying to look older and placing the word "kids" here to throw off the scent, but I think the word "apps" puts it right back on. In general I think this could be anyone. It's not me though. I do wonder which part of this response fits the Mod's request for "personal experiences." I assume the mod was satisfied, but I should know better than to speak for her.
Human: I am human, but this response is not me either.
EDIT: Stupid spelling mistake, how embarrassing . . .

None of the wolves reveal too much about themselves. They all made broad general statements, but a few things can be found:
Death: Has a calender app which he used to remind him of appointments and things to pick up from the store.
Not many teenagers pick things up from the store, or at least need to remind themselves of it. It seems like someone who at least has their own appartment.
Terror: Likes cellphones that's pretty much all we got out of that response, and that texting with the right person can be fun, but that's pretty vague.
Despair: Hard to understand, because it was in garbled english, there really were no concrete facts given. He lets you assume that his first phone was a brick phone, but he could very well be talking about THE first cell phone made, not necessarily his. I'm pretty upset with this wolf
Soccerguy's Greedy vs. Generous TWG The purple wolf (who turned out to be shaidar) says that he doesn't have a cell phone. Important to note that this was in November 2008...

I know we have to vote to protect our Seer, but I have nothing to really base a vote on at this point. There have been many good points made, but nothing that really points to a specific person. We still have 11 hours left before the vote is over, so I'll be back later.

Well, I haven't seen anything new that points to any one particular person.
The more I read the responses the more I can someone different being that wolf.
We do have to place some votes to protect our seer, so I will throw a vote out there. Please do not jump on the bandwagon with this vote unless you have a really good reason to believe they are a wolf. I will vote for Stewie for now.

Well based on the prompts I had a few ideas and one of them was shaidar so I will vote for him. So hard to tell in the first few rounds, at least there is the prompt to help somewhat. Also since I haven't played in awhile I'm a little amnesiac I suppose, but how does people voting protect the seer, sorry if that's a stupid question
Well as we all know the first round is alwas the hardest to fimd a I am going wolf. Anyway I am going to just place a random vote for paws to protect the seer.

Voting for RGW4. It's pretty much a fish vote to protect the seer, but people had inklings that sounded like one of the wolves, so it's the best guess I have.
Wouldn't be weird if we had a bunch of one-vote ties? I've never seen that happen before!

Well, in order to protect our Seer, I need to vote as well. I do not want to put a second vote on anyone who already has a vote, so I'm tossing a vote to Bobbi. Please don't jump on a vote for her because she is purely a vote to protect our Seer.

For the safety of the seer, I will fish vote for 4demo... I have no inclination that she is a wolf but she did seem to pick on the human answer and skip over a wolves answer.
I can ask her one question though... you mentioned the human answer had only 2 sentences... what about Despair? I only count two periods and neither of the "sentences" before the periods made sense, making them non-sentences (?) I thought you were into grammar?
Now because it MUST be something the wolf has done in personal life, it seems to me this wolf owned a brick at one time because frankly the second line is a garbage line of words that probably should not be allowed as it really has no meaning - it is not a sentence in any form of the word! I respectfully request clarification of the three sentences, regardless of how the wolf dazzled the mod, with this wolf required to submit a new answer better formed to the rules. Isn't a sentence something that you can read and understand, even if the clue to the wolf is hidden in it? The first line is also garbage, but at least it sort of said something.
I would like to see the wolves forced to follow the rules and make sentences real sentences and not just words. Hide their meaning in creative words, not garbage please.

I've also casted a random vote to protect our Seer. I literally used a random number generator and voted for the person who happened to be that number on the list (I would have repeated had the person already received a vote).

At this point, I would venture to say we are heading for a Mo0 vote in wolf. It has occurred before. The computer could decide who to shoot.
I actually prefer that when there are no real choices for a wolf... and would be very leary of a second vote on someone as coming from a wolf trying to protect themselves or a fellow wolf.

That's definitely a fair question, Randy. I actually did have to read over Despair's response several times before I was able to make some meaningful sense out of it. My opinion was that although the response was not formulated into three grammatically correct sentences, there were three distinct ideas present: the original brick phone, the savvy new options, and the negative aspects. Also, regardless of the grammatical construct, or lack thereof, the response obviously was approved by Dina so I didn't feel it needed to be questioned. I only asked about the Human answer because it had clear sentence divisions and thus seemed likelier to have been accidentally cut off.
I'm really sorry if it seemed my analyses of the answers didn't seemed balanced. I genuinely couldn't contribute any insights about Despair's response that hadn't already been mentioned, but I tried to share any ideas I had about each response and simply had more to say about some than others.

Trust me, I concur that if Dina approved it, it's good enough for me... I think.
The biggest problem with the reunion group is that many of us play together in many games, so when you are tapped on the shoulder to be a wolf or a boss/rat, others seem to see right through the basic things said and can pick you out of a crowd. So it seems necessary to disguise your way of writing. Then there are others who automatically see people in every answer (I do seem to be named a lot in many games... as well as Josh for some unknown mysterious reason) probably because we are outspoken. In boss, I could care less if people want to point me out of the crowd and get a majority vote on me that way, because it only clears you if you are an employee... but in wolf, it gets you out of the game, so I would rather not have fingers coming my way unless someone truly ONLY sees me as the one who wrote the answer. Its too easy to be put up against a firing squad because someone thought it would be fun to just throw out a name on a hunch.
I accept your answer, and like I said, I am only protecting the seer, so I am not promoting a second vote for you, 4demo.

I'm going to vote for Josh, mostly to protect the seer, mostly to see what happens when the wolves decide to eat, and only partially because I could see him answering a few of these.
I find it interesting that there are no second votes. Either the wolves have not been voted for, or they are taking their chances of getting shot in this game of Russian roulette.

The voting feels like we are in a Boss game not Werewolf but I will go along with the MoO this round too. I have read all the posts and it took a while and there isn't really much more I can add at this stage.
I notice that no-one has voted for jtolley yet so I will.

Snow, I love your reason to vote for me. I haven't had cinnamon toast since I was a kid.
