Round four, and still quite a few people left. The plot thickens; the suspense builds...

I might post a clearing clue later. Depends on how the round progresses.

Gee Shadows, don't know why you would post a clearing clue, your last one was so successful!

In any case, I am a late night player and I sort of suspected a late night start, based on the other rounds.

We all expected Skybet to be fired, he stated the fact. Sorry, but it does happen.

The boss decided to not use his second firing on an active player so the two players we had in the limelight last round would still be there. Why? Because we probably would either still try and get a majority vote on one of them. Perfect for a boss who is not in the limelight, isn't it? Do I have an idea who is the boss? Not really, and I really mean that, regardless of what I am hinting at in this post.

One thing that has sort of bothered me this game... the time of starting it. 11 PM, Midnight.. Shadows is from Canada, so, my Midnight is either her Midnight or her 3 AM... (sorry Shadows, I am not really sure what Time Zone you are in)... so why? Maybe she is trying to be nice to the boss and make it closer to the bosses time zone - which is more like someone from "overseas". GA does fit that bill... he was on the firing block in round one... and Mocha changed her vote from him to me. She got fired. GA has played in games where codes were used... not a lot of players have done this, but I could be wrong.

I am NOT trying to start a vote on GA, nor would I support it, I think he is being framed a bit... I just think it is important to point out irregularities and ideas. There is a big part of me that feels he is absolutely NOT the boss, but for reasons I can not explain right now, I can not support my idea... Smeraldina would understand!

Part of me thinks that the boss is not either GA or Freakshow... but that would really put all of us back in the stone ages. Elios...I am watching you!

Hmm, well, I actually don't know who to suspect. Part of me thinks RGW4 is the rat but I'm probably wrong.

We really need to get a solid majority this round. I'm trying to think of which player would put in the time and effort to make the cipher memos. I'll place a safety for Yuffie for now.

Well, anyone who knows me well enough knows that my dream job is and always has been to be an actor. I've been in a film and tv shows and commercials, so not sure why caberet is still voting me since she would be one of the main people who knows this?

Anyway, I still think freakshow07 is the boss, and he should also know that acting is my main passion so if he continues to try vote me then that should even sell him out as boss further.

EDIT: Here's a link to me saying that my dream job is acting. So yeah, I'm not the boss.

Actually GA, I didn't know that.

Well as long as we are all defending ourselves, most of you know that music is my passion and that one of my favorite things is singing opera, so of course that's what my dream job would be. And now that I've graduated I'm one step closer to making that dream a reality.

As for voting, I think I'm going with Caberet for now. I may change later.

I had a thought as I woke up this morning... about the boss clue. We were given 5 riddles basically... Shadows later said it wasn't really necessary to solve them - why? Because I think the riddles are the clue, not coming up with answers.

Do we have someone here who either just loves doing riddles, or works at creating them?

Edit - well fancy that - - my vote is going with Elios. Not only does she have puzzles in her likes, she repeats it in her wiki. I also thought about the question for the boss for this round... dream job - food critic - as long as the boss doesn't get obese. Sorry, though I think most people don't want to get obese, it is normally a female that would be concerned enough to mention it.

Ugh, please don't refer to women as a "female" unless you're in biology class, it's so demeaning

Since we're on the topic of dream jobs, I too dream to be in the Entertainment Industry as an actress, with a focus on voice acting. I am currently working on getting a demo reel together, so hopefully my dream will go farther than my pillows =D.

Elios does not fit the boss' dream b/c her dream has always been to be a writer (although she also dabbles in voice acting as well; runs in the family ). She has never really focused on food too much although she and I do tape ourselves eating new & interesting foods but that's more to see our reactions when the food tastes nasty than to actually critique the food

I was thinking about the Boss clues of last round & I realized that the quotes Shadow said for "Despicable Me" (Which she claimed in post one is a movie she "reeeeeally" likes) are actually from the movie "Up". All of them. Ellie is Carl's deceased wife, Dug is the talking dog and if you look back at her other post about not thinking too hard on the clue, she kinda points at it.

Live fast, die young, make a pretty corpse.
You never know the worth of water until the well is dry.
Things don't matter: people do.

It's been a while since I've seen the movie, but Carl was trying to protect his house & move it (something about the balloons LOL) but then met that boy scout & made friends. At the end, he reconnected with his humanity and society in general. His wife and he were adventurers, so they lived fast & she died young. The "appreciating something once it's gone" water analogy kinda fits the whole mood of it...

Anyway, I don't know what exactly we are supposed to be looking at but I feel the actual clues are just a red herring and the actual clue is the Despicable Me / Up connection?

EDIT: LOL Shadow literally says it:
Boss clue is up. Don't spend too much time on it.

The Boss Clue is UP !

Oh & forgot to finish my post b/c I was too excited to get my idea out to everyone Anyway, I'm kinda feeling RGW4 might actually be the rat & is trying to set the focus away from GA by pointing him out to everyone? It's true the boss can't lie but it's also possible to have more than one dream job. I'm going to safety vote for Tuku (no one voted for her yet, right?)

Hello everyone!

I'm about to head off to my daughter's place. She loves it when I give her a break. I love it when I get to play with my 2 1/2 and 3 week old grandsons. They love it too. Win win!

I will agree that GA has spoken of his acting career. He's even been in a movie! Freakshow is an amazing singer. Amazing! But the 'dream job' aspect of the question leaves a tiny fudge room re. one's desired career. So I'm not convinced either way.

Great find, Skybet!

Toodles...

Oops, sorry about that. I get the two movies mixed up all the time. Love both of them and they seem similar to me, so... yeah. Don't read into it. I meant Up quotes.

There are more red herrings than herrings in what I say, mainly because I always post when I get home from school or right before I go to bed. Those are the two times when I'm the most tired.

Sorry, but as one of the "older" generation, I never heard calling women - female - was demeaning... I think calling them other things is demeaning, but there are two genders in the world, male and female... in any case, I meant no harm, and if I did, I am sorry.

Yuffie, vote for GA. The chances of GA being the boss is very slim; even freakshow dropped his charge against him. I will also be one of the first to point out that GA said that a couple years ago... and he is still young. People change their goals several times while they grow into the adult shoes they want to wear when they are still in school.

You think I am a rat to pull votes away from GA? Who is already being cleared by several players? Need I say more to others about who we need to think is the rat in this game?

I still stand by my conviction... if I am fired for it, so be it... but short of Elios being cleared, my vote will stay there. I came to my conviction by just spending time in Elios's wiki... every player should do the same; and then tell me I am dead wrong in my conviction. Dream job is something beyond what someone does or is studing for... my dream job would be a head accountant... go figure. Edit - by the way, I am a licensed electrical contractor - chances are, I will not be changing my profession any time soon.

This is off topic so my response will be minimal & in white text - I know you meant no harm in what you said and I apologize for overreacting - it's a personal "pet peeve" of mine. but it is my personal opinion that calling a woman a "female" likens her to an animal (ex: female cats nurse their young) - I have never heard anyone call a man "male" when, in the same context, they use the term 'female'. Ex: "That's something a man would say" and "that's something a female would say." Another example: "Having long hair is a "female" trait but guys have beards". Since people never say "that's something a male would say" it then implies that there is more to the term "female" than just a way to differentiate the sexes. When rappers say they want to "get a female", the way they use the term is objectifying to women - literally, they are the subordinate of the species & are there only to please man.

Yuffie, vote for GA. The chances of GA being the boss is very slim... I came to my conviction by just spending time in Elios's wiki... every player should do the same; and then tell me I am dead wrong in my conviction.

GA is cleared now because why? He's an actor & that's his dream job? Your conviction of Elios is purely on the speculation that the Boss Clue points towards "riddles" and Elios likes to do puzzles (which granted, she does). But you are also forgetting that Elios' dream is to be a writer so therefore she should be just as cleared as GA.

My point is that the boss very well could be Elios but I don't think that GA can be cleared without a majority vote. This round seems to be very quiet & I don't want to force Caberet into a majority by switching my vote, so I will remain on Tuku .

Oh oops! Sorry I missed this round. I got wrapped up in other things.

Yuffie is right: a dream job of mine would be something in a writing field. That doesn't mean that's my only "dream job." I have more than one desire for an awesome career - and I'd dare say that's probably true for most of us. If I had the talent and opportunity, I'd love to be a puppeteer; ooh, or a costume maker. A part of me also wishes I could be a farmer! So anyway, I don't think we can clear anyone based solely on the Boss's wish to be a food critic.

The votes are all over the place this round. I'll put mine on GA simply to try to get a solid clear on him so we can move on.

My dream job would be one of those country squires in Agatha Christie novels: do nothing all day, eat delicious meals prepared by your personal cook, live in a big ol' house with a cool name instead of a street address, and have people call you "sir" or "my lord".

If you want a clearing clue, it's "Rosaurn (1817)". Don't bother with it unless you're really bored.

Woo, made it back just in time =P Well, since Elios is voting for GA then there's no reason for me not to switch my vote, to make a more solid case in clearing him.

Voting list for this round:

caberet - GreenApples27
Elios - GreenApples27
Yuffie - GreenApples27

GreenApples27 - freakshow07
xxsoftballxx13x - freakshow07

freakshow07 - Caberet
J-Boy - Yuffie
RGW4 - Elios

tukuwakatiki - undeclared

A quick Google search told me that 'Rosaurn' is a lyrical drama written in 1817 by Johannes Carsten Hauch. I'm too tired to look up a synopsis tonight but I'll work more on the clue tomorrow ^_^

I don't think you have to worry GA... if Tuku did not vote, she will be the only person fired, just like last round. Even if she did vote, she could have put herself in a majority vote and therefore becomes the logically firing.

And sadly, she was cleared... making her firing even more of an easy prey for the boss. Sorry friends, but if you sign up for the game, short of missing round one where I know a lot of players get side tracked and forget they are in a game... you really should make time... or don't sign up for the game. (not trying to pick on you Tuku, but one day by one person of having a busy schedule will probably change the outcome of this game).

But what's the bottom line on this... it is only a game.

I truly feel strongly that the boss is Elios and the rat is Yuffie - whether I convince anyone else is incidental. I guess I am the only one who watched the online time period of round one to know why GA does not appear to be the boss. Smeraldina is not the mod in this game, so I guess it is incidental (yeah, my own little clue #2).

No offense Yuffie but personally I think you're going a bit overboard on the female subject (and I will not say anything more about that)

Otherwise, I want to see who gets fired. Unfortunately it will probably just be tuku, which means we've lost a cleared player and we won't gain any insight from these "mini-majorities".

However, if tuku is the only one fired, doesn't that mean that Elios is either the rat or the boss? She admitted to missing the round, which might mean that she is the rat and the boss will choose to fire her this round? I'm over thinking things. I apologize.

I've been trying to work on the clue, but I don't have anything. I don't have any suspicions. I have nothing.

softball... Elios did not miss the entire round, she posted about 3 hours before the round ended, she just stated that she missed the round. Hmmm, does sound like she admitted that doesn't it, but the fact remains the round ended around midnight... she posted around 9 (Edit to show Braingle time)

See, that's ironic because I don't really suspect GA of being the boss but I feel so strongly that RGW4 is the rat that I am led to believe GA is the boss by default I do think it's odd that GA seems to defend himself in almost every post he makes but I can see this as just being him & not a "tactic".

But, since you think I'm the rat I'll go ahead and defend Elios once again - she meant that she was unhelpful in the round, not that she missed it regarding the voting. Elios is my sister and my roommate, so if I come across as protective, that might be why. But let me again point out that I do not think Elios is any more innocent than the rest of the non-cleared players. She very well could be the boss but the memo/psych questions just don't lead me to believe this.

We tried a majority on Freakshow07 and GreenApples27 in Round 3 and again we have those same attempted majorities this round; I'm going to go out on a limb here & suggest we create an ACTUAL majority next round on one or the other as, just like last round, it's going to be likely that the only person fired is/was a mandatory. (Skybet & now Tuku). We need enough votes to potentially end the game to truly clear someone.

So far the Psych questions have been:

1.) The boss' second-worst decision has been to cook bacon in the oven.
2.) The dream vacation is to one day take his/her spouse overseas to Italy or Germany.
3.) Name a role model - we never deciphered the answer.
4.) The boss doesn't really have a dream but chose "food critic", as long as s/he wouldn't get fat.

#2 answer made some of the players believe the Boss was male and most likely American. #4 answer made players believe the boss was female. I think "take" and "obese" counter-act each other and make the boss' gender undefinable at the present time. (women can take their husbands some place and men can worry about gaining weight).

#1 clue about cooking bacon led us to believe the boss was relatively young (you have more bad decisions to choose from the older you get LOL); the 4th answer also points to that as the boss "doesn't really have a dream". I knew I wanted to be in the Entertainment Industry since I was 4 but as far as an "actual career", I'm still a bit unsure.

Cleared Players:
J-Boy
tukuwakatiki

Those in the "hot seat"

Elios
freakshow07
GreenApples27

Potential Rats
RGW4
Yuffie

Flying under the Radar
caberet - Has only posted one-liners; has never answered the boss' question in-game; She lives in California (so it would be an overseas travel to Italy or Germany) and her occupation is "being a grown up" which could imply she "doesn't really have a dream job".
This also means nothing, but if the Boss Clue is "Up" it could point to her as being first on the Player board (& being a 'grown up'). The reasoning is weak, but it's a possibility.

xxsoftballxx13x - Lists herself as being in High School and American; Her father cooks bacon in the oven, so it's possible she tried to be helpful one day and it didn't come out as great as her father's (she said in-game she's never cooked it but you are allowed to deceive In the game) She seems to be an active person (Softball is her name & Volleyball is listed as an interest) so becoming obese (especially for a teenage girl) would be high on the list-of-worries.

Not saying they are likely to be the boss, just that we seem to be running in circles with the Freakshow vs GA voting so maybe we need to start looking elsewhere.

As others have stated, what I meant was that I effectively missed the round. I wasn't around to post when others were likely to see it and be able to adjust their votes or respond to me. Sorry I phrased that vaguely.

I get that these games are a bit like a courtroom who-done-it drama, but I think it should be approached more lightheartedly than "providing evidence." If that's what this game has become, let's all just post screen captures of our voting pages. You've been consistent with your vote on freakshow, but aside from a few "it sounds like him" statements, you haven't offered us "proof" of your suspicion. Granted, your not having been fired yet does lend some credence to the claim, but a good Boss player would refrain from firing you for as long as possible to aid in the misdirect. If I'm not fired, I'll consider joining a Freak majority next round. But I'm also going to read back and see if you could possibly be a Rat for one of the other players...

Cab has been very quiet this game. Rather unlike her. (Late congrats on the new grandson, btw! )

Playing the way I am? I honestly have no clue what you're talking about. I do clarify things on Elios' behalf (ex: "missing the round") but I don't see how that's any different than anyone else in this game (ex: defending Tuku for not eating Bacon (as seen in Round 1) or agreeing that GA is an actor). My relationship with her does not cloud my judgement in the game; if there is evidence that she is the boss, I will be the first one to vote for her. But I don't see any actual evidence that points towards her - please clarify why it is that you believe she's the boss. Shadows has not confirmed that the Boss Clue points only towards the fact that the clues are a bunch of riddles, and the 'Riddles-to-Puzzles' connection is the only reason I've seen you give for thinking she's the Boss.

If you don't think GA is the boss, but think I am his rat... something is already wrong with that picture.

Nope, just means you're acting way more fishy than he is.

I am curious why Yuffie continued to vote for GA

Because the round ended & I can't switch my vote. I don't have any strong suspicions towards anyone at the moment but the way you're playing (so adamant the GA is not the boss) has me continually look towards GA as the potential boss.

now says we might consider moving away from the running in circles and go elsewhere... if GA does not look like the boss anymore, why is it Freakshow doesn't too?

I am tired of running around in circles because I personally have been suspecting both Freakshow and GA. I don't want to pigeon-hole my mind and so therefore, I brought about all possibilities, to help me rethink about the situation and I shared it with the rest of the players to see if we could get a conversation rolling.

I can honestly see how anyone left in the game (with the exception of those cleared by clues) could be the boss. My mind has not been convinced one way or the other - that's my point. I am not convinced GreenApples27 is cleared and your defending him only makes me more suspicious. It's okay to think Freakshow07 is the boss, even though he and GA have been the mini-majority the same amount of time? I just don't understand why you think GA is innocent - Shadows ultimately starts the rounds, so saying that he's in the wrong time-zone doesn't hold much weight.

Unless I suddenly get inspiration, I plan on being a lemming next round and joining majority on whomever the group chooses because I really can see it being anyone.
