Hi everyone,
Sorry for not being on last round; I was in the hospital. I quite enjoyed dangerouspie's comment about perhaps I was trying to get a point across though. I will be updating this throughout the next hour to get everything on.
Story
It is a cold, dark night, and the wind howls out of control. Your small village of only 50 has fallen quickly to only 21 people. The abrupt decline has been brought on by the presence of a Witch, and all the remaining villagers actively hunt for this murderer. As you search through the dark of the night for clues as to the Witch's whereabouts, you hear a scream pierce the air. You run as fast as you can in hopes of saving a life, but the villager is already dead, and the murderer nowhere to be seen. You see four sets of footprints, other than your dead friend, and know instantly that the Witch has drawn followers, devoted to killing or converting the heathens of the town. You stare in shock and disbelief, and a loud cackle erupts from the crowd of now 20 people, and you know the Witch and the followers are in your midst. For every four people, there is one traitor. You think... Who will you trust? Who can you trust? A raven emerged from the thick foliage around and dug its talons into the dead flesh. No one you can trust... Or can you? Only time, your wits, and cunning will tell.
Throughout the day, the villagers attempt to track down the killers. As they continually turn up less and less evidence, they grow increasingly angry, spitting vile remarks in the direction of the town's guards, blaming them for the attacks, commenting on their ineptness at protecting them and their town. By the end of the day, the villagers have worked themselves up to the point of unjustified murder, and kill one of the guards, Smithy, as he has seemed distant and unwilling to help the town. They soon come to their senses after blood has been spilled, and seem to feel terrible. As the daylight fades and darkness closes in, the villagers return to their homes, each hoping they would not be the next to die. The guard Captain makes her midnight rounds, and shady figures descend upon her from all sides. She is soon dead, and justice is forever gone in this town.
Two days and nights go by very quickly, with 4 more innocents killed. The numbers of the good are waning, and the cult is gaining more power. With no law enforcement, chaos runs rampant through the streets. The members of the village opted to kill the strangers, believing they had brought this curse with them. You think back to the raven three days previous, pecking the eyes from your fallen friend. Who could be true to your town? What hope have you?

Not sure what the mod will be doing for us? If we don't hear from him soon maybe we should try some means to make this a regular game? Post IDs in Spider's game maybe, switch the seer over to the human's side?
Anyway, gonna fish
Anyway, gonna fish
Well, we know that the last wolf who voted wasn't debc1 or chunnie due to the fact that neither of them have been on today. I didn't vote last round because there wasn't much to go on. Most people fish voted, and the ones that didn't fish vote neglected to say why they voted for whom they did. I find it odd that leaf voted for himself, unless of course, that was someone's power put into use.
Anyways, I am going to hope that the mod shows up and helps to clear some things up soon. I will check back in later.

Hi all! I completely missed the end of the round last night and I feel like a dope! I don't have a lot to go on but I am curious why jubu has completely changed his game play in this game and voted in the first two rounds... Will place a vote for him on lack of anything else to pin my suspicions on. Potentially can change if something jumps out at me.

I'm fine. I was on my way to classes and fell. (Lamest story ever) I thought I broke my arm. Just a lot of waiting, mainly. i'll be here from now on though. (Unless I hurt myself again
Goodness....all humans have been killed so far. Not looking good. The council has decided on a new law that hopefully will be mentioned soon and will end all of the waiting around this village. Will wait to vote till tomorrow. Good night all.

Thank God for Canadian health care, masoni. Good to know you're okay and we can continue.
Whoever has been leading this crew has been telling lies. I'm in agreement with Tonja and I like that train of thought, especially after they voted for me last round so the odds are increased. Though I'm hesitant in trusting tonja since the majority against her was beaten out by superleaf's
Voting jubu anyway!

I'm back, for now. I almost forgot about the game.
Good to hear from the mod, and glad you are ok, now let's get down to brass tacks gentlemen
As I said before, masoni indicated that ICU is probably a human, so not in agreement with that vote. Jubu, possible, but no one has really stood out, and the eatings, atleast Green and Bradon are interesting. I could switch to Jubu, but if he is human I might make a full charge on tonja next round, just a feeling.

Glad to see ya chunnie!

Glad to see you back, masoni. Hope all is well now, and you don't hurt yourself again.
Thanks, Longhorn.
Read through what I missed when I was gone. I'm disappointed that superleaf chose to vote himself rather than try to defend himself when he knew he was human.
This game is strange, because it doesn't seem as though anyone wants to "lead". Everyone is trying to hang back and hope they survive. I don't think this is a strategy that's going to favour us, especially with the seer on the opposite side. And the fact that we keep shooting humans on our own means that the wolves don't have to risk revealing themselves; they can just stay under the radar and watch us pick each other off.
With the seer being evil, we have 1 less round to get a wolf/seer. If we don't get one of the 5 in the next two rounds, it would be next to impossible for us to win.
I vaguely remember playing a game - I think it was one of masoni's - where we were faced with a similar situation and we decided as a group to vote for the person recommended by the council/witch hunters. It would have been ideal if we could do that with the witch hunters, but it seems that they have fallen apart. We could do it with the Council - after all, they are charged with the responsibility of running this town. The downside is obviously that if one or more of the council members is a wolf, we'd likely be playing right into their hands. But it is something worth considering I believe, especially if our votes remain as haphazard as they have been.
I do find it strange that ICU hasn't said anything at all in the game. I was thinking maybe it was something to do with her role... maybe she isn't allowed to say anything? Or maybe someone actually silenced her for the entire game? Those are the only two logical reasons I could come up with. It's not like her to not contribute. I'm tempted to, but very skeptical about voting her. I think, for now at least, I'd be more inclined to vote tonja. So that's where my vote goes.

Interesting that peeps are mentioning tonja, yet only one is actually voting for her. IDK, just seams odd. And someone mentions that the mod is seaming to clear ICU as a human, yet LH is voting for her. With a good reason - she's been absent from this game quite a bit. . . but is masoni pointing at ICU as a human or not? If he is, then why the vote for her LH, and if he's not, why aren't more voting for her? Not quite ready to vote yet. Kinda suspicious of HP. . . . .

I am also curious about ICU. Could she have forgotten us? She is often enigmatic in her game play, but always checks in somehow. I am wondering if she is wolfy (cult member) or even the witch.
Snow, I saw that too. I am suspected, but not many have voted. I have no way of proving I am human, but as blacksmith, I am committed to working my metal magic to help the town!

It's been a weird game, we essentially lost Round 3 and some people are a little quieter than usual, Harry for instance
Harry I think is ok though, eating Bradon/Green isn't his MO, but then again their are four wolves making the decisions. Still don't think ICU is a good idea at all. Just to makes things a little more interesting, I guess I'll switch over to Tonja, but it's not locked for certain.

Ok. I voted dangerous last round based on some of the comments that she made in the TB not the game. As far as I know we can not mention those exactly.
Anyhow, I have voted ICU for the time being just b/c I find her behavior interesting. Chunnie brings up a good point she might have been silenced but that seems like a strange power to give a player as I would see it upsetting the player who is silenced. I do find the mod's comments interesting about the wolves leaving ICU alone, but at the same time I find a lot of things about this game as being strange. Could the comment be used to throw us off?
I will say as I did eariler that I am disapointed in the Mod in his decision to throw out a law the council wanted to make and voted with a 4/0 vote. I will mwention that law here and if the mod edits it then so be it.....

Resolution #001
Resolved: effective as of the beginning of day of Round 3, if wolves let night time out, a wolf clue will be given in the first post of the next day round. Effective the beginning of day of Round 4, if night times out again, then a witch clue will be given in the first post of the next day round. Further, clues will be easy if night times out due to an inactive wolf and will point to the wolf responsible for the time out.
Passed by a majority of votes.

Addendum to rule: Night time outs and no votes to frame an inactive will result in an automatc wolf identy. (since we have no seer).
As of now every player in the game has been online uring the night round time except the mod and chunnie. Ther is NO reason to drag out the nights. We will know if no one voted if the top player on the list is eaten, unless the wolves have a TB to coordinate not voting and let the computer eat.
So I vote we make the law stated above to get this game moving!
Also I think we vote to have a wolf clue regardless since our law was not stated in the 3rd round due to the mod's inactivity.
This is not our fault that the mod has abandoned the game. I am getting worried about that as he has not been on in 2 days.
Hopefully he will be on to state our laws and continue the story so we have IDs.

I'm in favor of the mod's decision, Night 3 did not time out, Night 2 I believe was neccessary to time out and Night 1 there were compelling reasons to let night time out (you announcing your absence till Monday for instance). I've never been on a council in these games, but seems like an overreaching rule proposal to me, while seeking to lay unfair blame on the wolves for circumstances, partially, out of thier control.
Furthermore, in a game where the mod, although justifiably it seems, left the game, the wolves shouldn't be chastised to much for slowing the game down, as it gives the mod a chance to get on sooner (in turns of the game time). I'm not a wolf, but they get blamed too easily for things like this, when if ALL players would try a little bit harder to simply log on we likely wouldn't have these issues.
I'll be watching until the rounds over so I'm still listening

There will be a city council, which will be made up of three Council Members and the Mayor, who will have a talkbox, and will be able to make "laws" that affect the entire town. These "laws" will be minor changes to gameplay that can make things more interesting and fun. Mainly, the City Council is used as a discussion area amongst a few of the townspeople.
Speaking as a former council member, Longhorn, you guys shouldn't have expected that "law" to be enacted. You guys have authority over the townsfolk, but not over the mod. And that "law" basically seeks to make the mod do certain things based on the actions, or rather inactions of the wolves. That's a definite no-no.
Edit: Just saw Ching's post.
---This message was edited on 2012-09-13 14:17:42---
I think the way the council saw it was that it would be making it "more interesting and fun". A clue for an intentional delay of game. Clues make more discussion in the game and get more people involved. And wolves acan also participate and make the humans think in an opposit direction.
The addendium was just a proposal that I wrote. The law was the first quote that would be a warning to the wolves that this would happen. and if repeated then a clue would be given. I have seen it done many times in games to prevent delays
Like what you love, and love what you got.

Look at it objectively... you guys are supposed to be making "laws" that the townsfolk must follow. Yet that "law" you proposed says that the mod has to give clues based on how the nights go. Saying that it affects how the wolves play would be a weak argument, because if one or more of them is inactive and then the others have no control over night timing out.
We're wasting time even discussing this. There are about 3 hours left. We need to find a wolf/seer.
I'd like to hear from dangerouspie101, kajish, ppjones, and Wittykitty.

My best guess is somebody's used their special power. Maybe tonja?
I switched my vote, but I'd like an explanation too, if possible.

Or not shooting all but one Witch Hunter! (or having those people be active )

I'm also not sure why I, who have voted Tonja since round 2, while making an effort to save a human, in Talanpoe/Superleaf, would be more suspcious for once again voting her...especially over those who simply fished and called their work done with
Of all the remaining villagers, having the blacksmith 'rig' the gun I guess makes some sense, so maybe Tonja just defended herself?

Dangerouspie is bothering me as well as HP and tonja somewhat. But I must say I am staying with my vote. Something about the Mod's post regarding ICU is bugging me. Not sure why

The people consistently voting are consistently protecting the seer, and therefore helping the wolves in this game So the people who have voted every round thus far should be the most suspicious by default.
There was actually an advantage in mason not being active last round..and the advantage was that mason couldn't override the lack of votes and let the witch divine anyway (which is why I chose not to vote ). I'm not sure what at all is suspicious about me, I wasn't involved in the shooting of humans the past few rounds

Well the mod's intention was for all players to be required to vote to prevent just that type of play. The wolves are eating voters anyway, which is a backwards tactic for them. I'm not going to feel guilty about playing the game the way the mod intended, vote starving the seer out is pretty boring anyway. I don't find you suspicous, but it's easy for a wolf to steer clear of being involved in shooting humans, it's one of their leading strategic aims and IF Tonja turns out to be a wolf, trying thrice to save humans at her expense should put my ID beyond doubt
Also, I'm not sure you abstaining from voting really means much, Im not entirely sure how this game works, but if everyone votes, the wolves have to gamble on eating the seer. If people abstain, they give the wolves 'safe' choices and thus the seer should be quite protected from accidental eating. However, again, I could be mistaken about the rules and the wolves seem keen on eating potential seers anyway

You sound a lot like a disgruntled seer, Ching

I thought the wolves knew who the seer was. Am I mistaken?
If so then I have been playing this all wrong.

You sound like you're looking for easy answers Harry
I'm not sure if they have that info or not, but it'd make sense wouldn't it?
When we find the Witch, at least one or two cult members will probably be sticking out like sore thumbs

If the wolves do NOT know who the seer is then the game has a whole new twist. I have been assuming all this time they knew the identies of eachother. Hense why we proposed the law in the council, to try to even the odds a bit in the game being as the humans have no seer from the getgo, but if the wolves do not know that identy either than it makes a bit more even field as the wolves can out the seer at any time by helping to shoot or even eat the seer.

Jayo you have to switch your vote
Sorry to come in so late. Work today was rather long and stressful.
Anyways, I am not seeing much to vote on. My eyes were drawn to the part of the story that talked about the raven pecking out eyes or something. It doesn't seem like that would be something to mention unless it was some sort of clue. The only thing that looks raven-like is Tonja's avatar. Since I was not voting for her before Masoni's post telling people to switch, I believe it is okay for me to cast a vote in her direction. Sorry again that I wasn't able to be of much help this round.

The cultists know the identity of the witch, but not vice versa. I think that the humans have the advantage in these gamed in general, but this seems to be the exception to the rule. Partially, I believe, due to the inactivity in the Witch Hunter's talkbox. There were only 4 posts, none of which were made by the only remaining member, hence the dissolution of the Witch Hunters.
EDIT: @WittyKitty
You would be right. You can vote for tonja as you had not voted for her before the gun was rigged.
