The Werewolf Game
Game #2940: The Right to Vote: Teamwork
This private game is moderated by Gizzer. Please read the rules and contact the moderator with any questions or concerns about this game.
This game finished in 8 rounds.
If you are an active Braingler who enjoys solving brain teasers (you would think that statement would be redundant, but it isn't) and would like to play this game, you will need to be on my friends list to sign up. If you are not on my friends list, send me a private message requesting to play. (Friending me is insufficient, and won't work, as I don't receive notifications for this. If you can't send me a PM, you wouldn't be able to play anyway.)
When I say "active", I mean you come onto Braingle at least once a day, every day - even if only for a few minutes. Yes, I know there are many more important things that demand your attention - and mine too. If you join this game, you are making a commitment to the other members of your team to participate. Be advised that this game could take 2-4 weeks, especially if nights keep timing out because some players don't log in daily.
The Right to Vote: Teamwork
In this game, players must earn the right to vote each round by solving challenges and/or performing tasks on Braingle.
I have attempted to make a variety of challenges, so that there will be something for everyone. It is not my goal to prevent anyone from voting by making the challenges too difficult, but I don't make them too easy either. You can check the previous games to see what you might be facing:
The Right to Vote
The Right to Vote Too
At the beginning of Day 1, players will be randomly divided into 5 teams of from 2-6 players. (I will not identify who is on each team, so players will have to decide the strategy around whether or not to share this information.) Each team will have a talkbox, in which they can discuss the challenges, team strategy, etc. Players will be allowed to remain in their talkboxes after they are shot/eaten. This will allow dead players to continue to assist with challenges and to send messages from the grave.
When a player earns the right to vote, all members of that player's team automatically earn the right to vote. Then, the team earning the right to vote may also choose to extend the right to vote to one other team. (This could get interesting!)
Wolves must earn (or be extended) the right to vote during the day in order to eat at night.
At daybreak, all voting rights will be rescinded, and must be earned again.
The number of players who earned/received the right to vote will be revealed, as will the identities of the dead players.
Each round, I will randomly select one player to be the Scapegoat. The Scapegoat must immediately cast a vote to shoot himself. Bandwagoning on this vote will not be allowed, ie no one else is allowed to vote for the Scapegoat. Should the Scapegoat earn the right to vote, he may change his vote to whomever he wishes, at which point, other players may vote for the Scapegoat, if they wish. No player may be selected as the Scapegoat in consecutive rounds.
I will also randomly select one human to be the Sacrificial Lamb. If no Wolf earns the right to vote, I will privately reveal the identity of the Sacrificial Lamb to all remaining wolves.
(Note: the random assignment of Scapegoat and Sacrificial Lamb is designed to make the selection of who is shot or eaten a fair one in the event that no one earns the right to vote. Without this, the computer would select the first player in the list, which is not fair to players with user names starting with letters near the begining of the alphabet.)
I hope you enjoy the game!
Here's a practice challenge - mostly just for fun! and maybe you'll win a "prize"
Please send me a PM if you know the answer.

That's true, it's been almost 2 years since I moderated a WWG, and almost a year since I stopped playing the game. I still don't want to actually play the game myself, but I do like making challenges, so I can still moderate for those who do enjoy the game - and my challenges!
Edit: I have challenges for the first 6 rounds ready to go. I'll need 3 more in case the game goes the full 9 rounds.

I agree, it's a good group. (Of course, it should be a good group - that's why you are all on my friends list!)
It's still a small group, though, so I thank you all for your patience.
I have started looking for new recruits - Brainglers who like brain teasers and perhaps haven't tried the social games yet. Hopefully that will help fill the game, as many on my friends list are signed up for or playing other games.
Edit: I've got challenges for all 9 possible rounds ready to go!

The temptation to join this game is nigh on to overwhelming; but I do have to confess that I've looked back over the past few games and suspect I won't be voting very much. But then I know from past experience that Gizzer's clues are well-crafted and usually painful to say the least.....
Whoa, haven't seen you in a while.
Ooh, this looks fun I'm in!

Thank you for the poke, Gizzer. I hadn't looked at the WWG list lately. This sounds like a lot of fun!

Thanks for the invite! I'm pretty sure I won't be voting much either, but I promise to be active & to try to solve the challenges

Now everyone needs to find one friend!
So far, 2 players have solved the Round 0 challenge. In a real challenge, that means each of their teams would earn the right to vote, and perhaps 2 other teams could receive the right to vote. I think there will be plenty of voting this game!

Cool! Hope they're both on my team!
Over the hill now, and nine to go.

Hey Giz! Thanks for the poke! I've been rather busy since my game ended, but I'll go ahead and jump in... I'll make a post in my game as well suggesting people sign up.

This doctor's middle name isn't Andre, is it? I'm sure he doesn't give German massages. That's my specialty.

Welcome, jpost. It does take time to reach 20 players, especially during the summer and in a private game. Good things come to those who wait, though, right?
And welcome, mocha! Thanks for the recommendation in your game!
I have been sending out personal invitations. As I mentioned, many of the players on my friends list are currently in either Rhythmic's or HABS' game. At least 5 of them have indicated that they will join once they are finished in their current game.
There are a couple of people who will join after their vacations, if the sign-ups are still open.

A middle name would wreck this puzzle. And welcome, mocha! Thanks for the recommendation in your game!

Wow, I'm feeling very inadequate; that hint isn't helping me.
And hi, jpost! Haven't played with you in some time. Glad you could finally join a REAL game!

Considering that this game has been in signups for 3 weeks, I'm surprised (though not displeased in the least) to see that five people have joined in the last 24 hours.
I'm really looking forward to this one.

hey, Elios. I know my style of enrolling for games doesn't net me very good games often, but now that I have caught up with you and others whom I have enjoyed playing with (and some new ones) I'm sure this one will be splendid. An active moderator is great, too. You notice she had me delete my previous comment since it sounded insulting. So she is really on the ball.
In that light, I apologize to any who might have been slighted by the comment. Humor often doesn't translate well in printed form. This is a good example of what I said earlier regarding my specialty of German massages. (This is also an old joke and is not to intended to categorize present-day Germans.)
Hmm... maybe I just better shut up now.

Thank you, jpost. It's true that tone does not always come through in printed text. I'm happy to see that you did not mean to be insulting, and that you chose to delete the comment and apologize publicly as well.
And thanks for the morning chuckle, KRUGERGIRL. Rest assured that the second hint does not refer to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters! (I only know about that through The Big Bang Theory! Is that sad? Nah, I guess that's funny! )
At this point, three players have given the correct answer to the challenge. It is interesting to note that two of those solved the puzzle, and one did it just by guessing! I guess that shows that there are different ways to be smart! And there are plenty of smart people here, including you - deb!
Thanks everyone for the attempts. You can also work together here, although I will ask that no one actually give the answer here. Hints are OK though!

Hi!
I have a slight suspicion in me, but logic says I'm wrong.
Ally or die. That is the motto of the new, REVAMPED version of Alliances I currently have. Alliances is a social game to the style of WWG and WTB. To learn more and/or play, PM me or check the public talkboxes. Come for a fun game!

We need only two more players. Based on a request to join and the recent shootings in other games, I expect we'll be starting soon, possibly while I'm offline for the night. Therefore, I'll declare it to be "night", and reveal the answer to the last challenge, and preview the next round's challenge.
Team assignments have been made, and invitations will come forthwith.
Edit: Make that one more player! Welcome, unctarheel!
Round 0 Challenge
What is Dr Pal Omic's medical speciality?
Hint 1: Get back on the bus, Gus!
Hint 2: For the Youngsters, for example
Solution
Ophthalmology (or just eye doctor)
Dr Pal Omic is a rebus: Pal in Dr Omic, or palindromic. He specializes in the eye, which is a palindrome.
Hint 1: If you get back on the bus, you re-bus. "Gus", who hopped on the bus in 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover, is a diversion.
Hint 2: Smarty_blondy has a teaser called Easy DROpalMS - For the Youngsters. The example given in the teaser is the eye.
Four players solved this challenge. Two players solved the challenge without any hints: Shadows and Limerick. They win first round immunity! Congratulations!
Round 1 Challenge
Where in the World?
This game is about teamwork, so you'll need to work together on this challenge. Let's hope everybody is active! As soon as I get notification that the game has started, I will send each player a private message containing a letter pair. When all 20 letter pairs are correctly placed in the list below, you'll spell out the names of 7 countries. (eg: If three of the letter pairs were CA, NA and DA, you could spell CANADA.)
Countries
1) __ __ __
2) __ __ __
3) __ __ __
4) __ __ __
5) __ __
6) __ __ __
7) __ __ __
Send me the list of 7 countries to receive the right to vote!
Note: If a player has not opened their message after 24 hours, I will retract the message and post the missing letter pairs as the hint.
It is now night. Discussion may continue in the team talkboxes!
